so is microsoft going to bite the bullet and make a blu-ray adapter for the 360??? they will lose a lot of sales to sony PS3 if they don't.

now we just need the price of blu-ray to fall before i buy it.
 
My dad just bough ANOTHER hd-dvd player in 1080p for his movie theather. Previously he purchased a 1080i unit for hellllla cheap then put it in his room when he found a 1080p unit.

I blatantly told him to buy blu-ray, hd wasn't going to make the cut.
 
I just told a lady the other day, in Best Buy of all places, that BlueRay was going to smoke HD. She was in the video game isle with her son asking me about "TUROK" for the 360. I happened to see the HD player and 2 movies in her basket. I told her that it would be a better idea to get a BlueRay player because HD was going to tank and she could get her son a PS3 and have a BlueRay player for the same price of actually buying the BlueRay player it-self. Needless to say her son was "co-signing" with me on that idea. But, being the ritzier part of Richmond, she just blew off what I said ( even the asked for advice about TUROK ) and made her purchase. I bet her rich-ass husband isn't to happy about the "paper wait" she just bought.^_^

You do know what this means though right??? BlueRay prices will more than likley go up.
 
if anything, they will go down i think. more will get sold, less overhead = cheaper production = lower costs to the consumer
 
Hard to say right now, but who's gonna compete? BlueRay= Hi-Def monopoly, atleast for a little while.
I see standard DVD going the way of the VHS, and BlueRay becoming the NEW standard for home movies/media. You know how it goes, our great-grand children will end up having media beamed right to there damn heads. They won't even no how to spell DVD.
 
standard def dvd will stick around for a while. not everyone wants to drop money on a HDTV and and HD player, and HD discs, AND HD content. SDTV via dvd's and digital cable is still pretty good picture at this point. its not like the fuzzy rabbit ears and vhs tapes were. its still plenty good enough for a lot of people, including me being a poor college kid :)
 
Fuck movies, give me data storage!

At 25 gigs a pop, I only need 100 of them to back up my server!

i dont have either of the new consoles any more (they were my old roommates'). I still have a shit ton of games...and i still get laid every night. God bless my life :)
