*: I haven't seen "there will be blood" yet so I guess I can't say for sure but I'm pretty damn sure

I heard both were very well written films. Haven't seen either of them yet but I plan to when I have some free time. Can you provide any more of a review? Without spoiling the movie, of course.

it's a little early to declare it the best film of 08.

especially when:
Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

are still to come :)

from my blog...

No Country For Old Men was simply phenomenal. It's probably the best movie I will see this year. It examines the feelings of the older generation that the world is getting to out of control and is therefore "no country for old men" (and since every generation seems to think that as they grow old you could say the story is timeless). All this plays out over a Mexican border drug deal gone wrong and follows roughly three or four different main characters. Not one for kids as it's Rated R and not "just barely". But if you're thinking filth fest it isn't that either. It's gripping, a movie that ends with credits and leaves the audience breathless and glued to their seats. The best part, and why it's Rated R, is that it's not "Hollywood". No fairly tale ending, no ultimate good triumphing cleanly over evil, it attempts to show real people in a real situation. The bad guys will chill you like a wanted killer loose in your home town and the good guys are as flawed as you or I. I CANNOT say enough about this movie.

Its one of those good movies where I was sooooooo happy I knew nothing about it.

I also can't wait to see There Will Be Blood. Looks good.

Nothing says "Badass motherfucker" like a silenced Remington 1100.

+4 for a great movie.

Werd I have seen both of them awhile ago and IMO NCFOM is better than There Will Be Blood. B is also right there are alot of good ones coming out this Year but none can compete with NCFOM.

The cinematography was amazing.

oh yes let's not forget a film about mindless teen bullshit and Harrison Ford's answer to Rambo 6546464354163546413465413416354165341635416541635131365416351313.12316561631313165431

in all honesty I'll go see Jones IV, but comparing either of these on No Country is a laugh. Comparing either of these to Iron Man, which should murder H&K and Indy in terms of freshness and excitement is a stretch, let alone a movie which is actually a "film" (yes there is a difference) like NCFOM

the difference, one of these is actually relevant and has a powerful message, the other 3 are a great way to numb your mind while you consume 600 calories of pop corn... or commit internet theft

Is this movie in theaters??? i cant sya i have heard of it but i wanna see it now lol.

and im still waiting for the next spiderman. :)

That depends on the viewer. Some prefer comedies, action, etc. Can't always please everyone. ie: a lot of people like Spiderman, I think it's OK. I think Dororo(japanese movie) is an awesome movie, others don't like it. I also find Saw and Texas Chainsaw Massacre boring.

I planned on going to see No Country for Old Men for awhile now, just haven't found the time. Although it looks good, I think I will like H&K just as much.
