its hondas newest motor, there found in the 2002+ civic si and the acura rsx, and a few others

So What Would Be Cheaper Buying One From The Link You Gave Me Or Rebuilding Mine ? I Really Want More Horsepower ! Soory For Being A Pain In The A** But I Really Dont Know Alot Bout Engines Like !

well this is the problem my check engine light was on the mechanic put it on the computer and told me that who ever had the car before me didnt change the oil often so the oil lines are clogged ! he said my car needs an o2 sensor and a nock sensor ! i ask him what he recomands he told me i should buy a new motor ! who told me my catalicconverter is also shot ! so im thinking i should do a swap but i have little knowledge bout engines ! my car also dont go over 4 rpms so maybe im thinking i need a swap ! thanx for helping me out hope you can help me thankyou !

well a k series is gona cost at least 5 grand, and a built stock motor will cost about 2500, and a new motor dx or lx will be about 700 and a turbo kit 1500 and it will out run either of the first things i said

so basically theres no diffrence then its still gonna cost me some cash ! if i was to rebuild mine now what will i have to buy in after martket parts ?

well your car is kinda heavy, so its not really gona be fat without a turbo or a motor swap,.if you just want it back running just buy a used d17 for about 700 bucks, then if you want it fast turbo it. that wil be the cheapest way

I'd get a second opinion on the condition of your motor before you buy another one. I'd rather pay for a new O2 and knock sensor than buy a whole new engine. Also, your car can't rev above 4,000 RPMs because it's in "limp mode". That's what happens when something goes wrong and the Check Engine Light comes on. The ECU lowers the rev limit so you don't hurt the car anymore than it already is by revving it too high.

thanx for the help guys i really appreciate it ! i did get a secound opinion the told me to change the o2 and the knock sensor and go from there they told me that thats what it might just be ! but if i wanted to get more horse what could i do to my 1.7 vtec besides put a turbo !

There's not really a lot that you can do to that motor besides turbo. The D17 never really caught on as a tuner motor. You can do the basic intake/header/exhaust, maybe cams, but that's about as extensive as the after-market gets for your particular application.
