I have recently purchased a B18C w auto tranny to go into my wifes car. When I received everything it was incomplete and I believe they sent me an OBD I ECU and harness. Part # is 37820-P72-901. From what I read on the interent this is an ECU from a 92-95 GSR Auto. Can someone let me know I'm wrong. If I am has anyone done this conversion and can you advise me on the wiring.

Thank you

Randy

B18C into 98 civic

I am putting a GSR engine into my wifes car which means I need to stay with an automatic. I have a P72 auto ecu, but I believe they sent me an OBD I ECU. The part # ends in P72-901 I believe that's out of a 92-95 which is OBD I. Any help? I am a restoration mechanic so this stuff isn't new to me, just a little different. I am used to carbs and points to make a car run. Thanks

You can use a jumper harness for the ECU, OBD-2a to OBD-1. You're either gonna need the jumper harness for the distrutor (if the P72 is OBD-1) to make it from two plugs to one, or use an OBD-1 distributor, or you can cut and splice...

Thanks eg6sir. This is going into an OBD II (1998 civic). My question is were to find if the ecu the sent me ( 37820-P72-901 ) is an OBD II ECU. Were can I find wirng pinouts for this ECU. I seem to find them for others, but nothing for this one! I spent ten years installing telephone and computer networks, so I am not scared of the wiring, I just need a little guidence. Thanks

So no one knows were to find the pinouts for that ECU. or wether or not this is an OBD II ECU?

Stay away from Nagasaki JDM Motors in B.C. Canada

They have really worked me over on the B18C swap I bought from them!

I have looked at those and they do not correspond to the particular ECU that I have. It is a 4 plug P72-901 ECU. Everything that I see is that it is a OBD I anyway. Thanks

go look at the ECU list. you should be able to deduce that with 4 plugs it is an OBDII ecu anyway. truncate it. P72 is the common name.

None of the list have A,B,C,and D pinouts! They Show A,B, and D or A,C and D. Any other places to look? Thanks

the reason they only show 3 plugs is because thats the only ones wires run to.. if you notice in the pic above there is nothing in B plug..

on an obd2b ecu the C plug wont have anything in it

P72-901 4 plugs

This is a picture of my ECU and it uses all four plugs!

But really, it doesnt.

I found this picture in the Hondaswap graveyard, and bringin it back from the dead. it should probably go in with the reference materials.
