What is a good replacement clutch for a bone stock 1990 Honda civic 1.5 liter? What else can i do to the five speed to freshen it up?

That would be my suggestion go to ebay look around for a Exedy or XTD. I was just researching your clutch and XTD has a complete kit with throw out bearing, pilot bearing, stage 2 clutch, pressure plate, and the alignment tool. When you yank your tranny make sure to inspect the oil. If its dirty change it with a good name oil. My other suggestion would look around for a LS or D16 tranny. You need the flywheel too make that swap because the D16 clutch is slightly bigger and the tranny input shaft is about 1/16" longer than the D15 (at least thats what I measured last night at like 4am might not be so dont quote me on that part) good luck

the ls tranny wont fit

I know the LS won't fit and I'm pretty sure his stock clutch and flywheel are completely compatible with any D series trans. I was never a D series guy buy I've read a lot and don't remember anything about having to use alternate flywheels/clutches just for swapping trans's.

But to smoothen it up a bit, flush and replace the trans oil. If you're trying to spend a couple bucks, a lightweight flywheel will make it feel like your car's a little quicker, might be a little easier to get the rpms up also.

That was my bad I didnt mean to put the LS in there I posted that around 5 am without any sleep in a couple of days sorry my bad
