I yell at the TV when he is on, but honestly I know his professional behavior is an act. His personal issues lie not in the fact that he's a dick head, egotistical, selfish and really really snobby - It's that he's Californian.

The moment he got some money he divorced his wife and got a young blonde. This is standard issue in California.

oh god, here we go again... you see, it doesn't bother me when you say shit about california or us who live here, it's when you make stupid fucking generalization statements that get real fucking annoying. Prove one of your genious theories to me about California(ns) and i'll gladly shut the hell up...

california has hot chicks, and I love going there.

RIP.

But in all honesty, he was a horrible car builder, owner and business man. If I am going to spend $100k on a car, I don't want the build to be crammed into 6 weeks, just to "get it done". That's not what custom car building is about.

Want to look at a real legend. Try Foose. Or Troy T.

Thanks !

give the guy a break
any time you're dealing with cars that need to be done for a special event you're dealing with a time frame
same with OCC in NY on the discovery channel
he doesn't have a name everyone recognizes for building shit

RIP.

what are you talking about would two guys in a garage with shity tools and hangovers be better a nice ripe 18 month project. come on man those guys got the best of everything in that shop not one person does everything you got installation coming from every angle in that shop not to mention all the work he subs out 6 weeks is plenty of time and you see the reason their always stressing is because a part is late on delivery or some bs like that anyway imo foose ftw

Give Boyd a break? Well, yeah. He's dead. I'll give him that. But he sold out to the "traditional" school of rod building, and after he had set his mark he didn't really push the boundries.

There IS a limit to how many 32' highboys you can build with LT1 350's in them, before that gets old. To put it in perspective, Foose used to work for Boyd. USED to.

I don't think the show helped his credibility any either, after seeing that footage I wonder why anyone in their right mind would take their car to that shop. He is unfair to his employees, doesn't actually do anything in the design/build process and runs a shitty shop.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

then who is a good builder to you ?

I agree.

Tutil Sr is the same way. he hardly ever does anything but drink out of his red solo cup and yell.

Foose is there for the whole build, does the whole design, and is an out right good person IMO.
