real fans are fans even after a loss, I'm still hoping Lesnar can reach his potential because it will be great for MMA

and threads like this are good for traffic and posts :-D

Maybe it's a shower and an appointment on "What not to Wear"

This guy's significantly better at Jujitsu than Mir is and from what I remember can take a hit pretty well.

Hopefully this one goes a little longer. :D

I don't know about the, that UFC concencuss is that Mir is one of the best HW Jits guys in the world

I've never even heard of this guy

Mir is toted as one of the best ju jitsu guys in all of UFC, not just the heavyweight class.

So no, this guy is not significantly better than Mir. This guy is a ground and pound style fighter out of Tito's camp if I remember correctly. He sits up high in the guard and tries to rain down blows.

it is retarded that Lesnar agreed to fight yet another black belt

I think he'll be better going into this one, and I do not think this guys Jits is on Mir's level, but leave the BJJ guys alone for awhile brock, damn

Black belt in Jujitsu and one of the trainers at Tito's camp. :)

Tito's student, more precisely.

He may be a trainer, but the person who he looks up to and he's trained by in Tito. Most people fighting MMA that have dabbled in jujitsu have black belts, there's nothing special here.

He'll be fine on this one. Mir is a bit more dangley and flexible plus he has some serious experience.

I would imagine that he stays on his feet or he goes straight to the ground and pound, staying in close to his guard and popping up to rain down blows from outside of the guard - a la Tito's style.

I've seen two of his fights. He uses his BJJ pretty extensively.

Last fight he was in, he looked terrible and didn't even attempt to work past the guard of his opponent.

Most experienced jujitsu guys find a way for themselves to exploit an opponents guard.

****BJ Penn vs Sean Sherk was announced for May - this will also be the last card Tito fights on for UFC after the Tito vs Machida match-up. This card follows the Serra vs. GSP in April. This weekend's Hendo vs. Silva should hopefully be amazing.

if penn stays in shape, that should be a pretty good fight. if he gets cocky and comes in flabby, he'll get worked.

tito, old news. sadly he is now considered "old school ufc". probably still beat machida.

gsp is a streaky fighter. when he is the underdog, he comes in prepared. when he is the champ, he's a little arrogant. then again, to be UFC caliber, you need to have a little attitude.

I would argue that GSP isn't a streaky fighter. Serra landed a lucky shot, with his heavy hands, that would have put anyone down. It wasn't as though GSP was being outclassed the entire fight, in fact he was winning the fight until he left an open shot that put him down.

...I wonder if Tito will beat Machida. Machida is no joke, and Tito has been coming into the ring as a joke. I really hope the Tito of old makes a reappearance, since he claims he has 5 years of fights, in him, left. Hopefully he'll want to put on a show so another organization will be even more motivated to pick him up, then just based on his namesake alone.

...I love sherk because he's an animal, but if Penn comes into the ring in the best shape of his life again, he is such a technically sound fighter that he can overcome most strength issues until he tires out. He's one of the few cases where technique just works raw power, until physical conditioning takes over and he can't maintain his technique or endurance. I'd like to see Penn come into the fight with another solid 5lbs of muscle on him. His physique honestly didn't look that great, overall, coming into the ring last fight, I walk around at least that lean on a daily basis with slightly more mass, but it was the best shape I've ever seen Penn.

yeah, serra did get a good knock in there.

tito will come in ready to fight. he will be ready for a new contract and put on a good show. read: shaun alexander, barry bonds, kobe. put on a good final event/season before a contract year to up the bucks.

i think sherk will have issues with the steroids. he might get put in some bad spots and his mental side could hurt him. it will be an interesting fight because they have two very different fighting styles.

I'm sure Sherk will still be a monster and not be effected by the lack of steroids. The only issue, I fear, is that he won't piss clean.

People don't understand that steroids, when used on a professional level like this, are just a training tool that help prepare a person but these "qualified" athletes have a lifelong streak of hard work and dedication. ***He's not just some chump thats been practicing martial arts, while neglecting his body. He had what it took to be a NCAA champ and it took him years to build up to what he was which is a great accomplishment with or without the sauce.

i totally agree about the steroid thing, but remember that football movie "the program"? not having the same routine/supplements/additions, no matter what they are, will mess with your head.

The thing about sauce, for unmotivated people, is that they forget how to train when they're not on it. Pros like bodybuilders and athletes in other fields, like MMA, football, etc., train hard whether they're on the sauce or not.

Thats the difference between the average guy, at the gym, that you see on the juice using it as a crutch to supplement poor training and the guy you see using the juice as an aide at overcoming plateaus that they've reached after years of training.

I'm not saying you're wrong, in fact I think it definitely can effect certain people's heads but experienced people know how to overcome those pitfalls.
