Damn not even a 5-speed. I frickin LOVE the new 4-door Civic Type R tho I think it's fucking awesome. I dunno why but I like sport sedans better than coupes and other types. Evos, spiced up Civic sedans, BMW sedans, but the WRX STi doesn't really appeal to me for some reason.

This gen of civic is great looking, but the materiels are crap. Really cheap shitty plastics. The 5 speed knob is so flimsy that it should have HASBRO on it.

the new civics are a real disapointment imo.
id rather have a stock ef dx.

My gf has an 06. I love driving it tho, its comfy, smooth and good on gas, unlike my high fueled tegra. I dont think its so bad.

It's more the cheapness that I don't like about it. It's not a bad ride but I downgraded from a K-series Accord to an R series Shitvic. To compare the two is comparing white to black.

But overall it acceptable, the cheapness of the interior has a detrimental effect on Honda's rep., the stock pads were garbage and extremely soft (i replaced them) and amazingly the slushbox actually isn't that bad.

Yeah, I've driven a friends black 4-dr EX when I did pads on it, and its amazing how cheap the interior feels, even compared to a 4dr Si. The R18 is lame as well.

One surprising note though, the Fit's 5spd Auto is actually not bad with sport shift.

My friend has the exact same car except for blue. I tried to convince him to get the Si for a little bit more, but he said insurance would kill him, plus he said didn't want to have to drive a stick :shrug2:. Oh and he paid for it straight up with cash/check. Which when he told me that I was like .

It's a nice car though I guess, it's always nice to have something new. But losing 5k when you drive it off of the lot sucks. Although I do really like that white color. It's really sharp looking. Like other people said the interior isn't all that impressive. It'll be interesting to see how long that new R series motor will last though. Don't think I'd buy a car new like that though personally, but then again I couldn't afford it anyways.

Insurance is night and day with the si vs. other models. AND THE MARK UPS.

I was in there, looking to break the bank on insurance and get one, and the dealership had it marked up 3k over msrp and wouldn't budge an ounce.

Is the new Si really all that impressive anyways? They're kinda heavy too I believe. And isn't the RSX Type-S faster?

Oh and my friends slushbox EX gets up to 60 quite slowly. I think it only gets there slightly before my 92' DX would. Didn't actually time it or race, but that's what it felt like. Not sure if it's true though :shrug2: .

The new Si's are quick and handle well. For the price tag it's impressive.

They are very heavy, my LX; GVRW ~3650 lbs

the rsx vs the new si is a drivers race,

and i like the new civic but the only thing i hate about them is no matter how hard your try you cant see the hood lol.

One thing I'm kickin myself in the ass for is going with the coupe over the sedan

Yea that's kinda weird. When I rode in my friends 07' Civic, I didn't really feel like I could see everything around me, compared to my 92' Civic sedan. But that's preference I suppose, I like having only minor blind spots. Nothing like the new Mustang though, I went with my Dad when he test drove one, and you can't see shit out of them. The blind spots are huge. You'd think reducing the amount of blind spots a car has would be a requirement for manufacturers.
