I been thinking it over and reading many articles from u guys about making ur own turbo or going with a kit. How do you guys feel about the greddy turbo kit If ur not using it have u heard stories of ppl who have plaease give feedback Im also looking at the peak boost kit as well
 
a kit is a kit. it's not specific to any setup, it's just there. people build kits to have specific parts from everywhere. you aren't going to see bad gains, but you wont see numbers like if you were to put on together yourself.
 
will it even get me a 100 hp gain cuz thats what im looking for im around 200 whp now motor is fully built for turbo im looking to be at 300 whp
 
what is done to the engine??? if it has been dyno'd at 200, 300 shouldn't be a problem. but if it is built for N/A you will spend a lot of time on a dyno tuning it so it doesn't blow up.
 
Its got forged pistons wiseco eagle rods its been sleeved because its a b20 with b16 head port and polish hot tanked 3 angle valve job honed etc
 
what compression?
 
I dont have any dyno sheets on me the previous owner took it to a dyno shop where he got all the work done and it s at 194 whp and yes sorry i do mean 8:8:1

i'm assuming he also had a turbo or nitrous. cr-vtecs are going to put roughly 160 to the wheels. it will be even less with low compression pistions. the tq numbers will fall off too. get the turbo kit if you don't know much about building one yourself. then have it installed and hit the dyno.
 
IMO, the only time a greddy kit (or nearly any off the shelf kit) should be bought is if you live in cali and need the card sticker.
 
Well what do you reccomend Im extremely new money is no object when it comes to this i just want it done right

Again I dont know much i been living eating and breathing this web site and blanco i have read many of ur replies great information do u have any websites you would reccomend also with that turbo what would i be looking to put down power wise

what b20 did you use if you know? I've heard the b20b's are terrible for the walls being weak, but if re-sleeving fixes it then i'm thinking about snagging this one close to me. Frankensteins are pretty sick IMO
 
Lets say i build a set up around the garret disco potato GT28RS. what other parts of the turbo do u reccoment like turbo manifold intercooler etc
