Ok here is the thing. I am looking for a couple things, to start off with I have a 1993 Honda Civic DX hatchback, 1.5L engin that is pushing over 300,000 Miles on it. So I am looking for an Engine Swap Soon. One question I have is that is there an Engine I can hook up to the Trans. I have now with more Horsepower than the one I have? and if So What is the Most HP I could get in one?...That being said I was also looking for a B-series swap (possible)...the only problem is I believe in the whole Honda Tuning scene you need to know people that could do the work, and I dont too many people that could do the swap...Also What Exactly would I need to get done for a B-Series Swap? And whats the least amount of money I can get a B Engine and Trans for? I am looking for at least 170,180 HP if I go that route. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks

I'm pretty sure you can hook up any D series tranny to the D15B7. I wouldn't bother with using the tranny you have now though, especially if you have 300,000 miles on it. If you do get a different D series motor, it should come with a tranny.

This is a good site to check out the prices for motor swaps. The majority of the parts needed are included.

B18C1 Motor Swap Guide - Honda, Acura Tech Website, tutorials, tuning and HOW-TO's. Drag racing, street racing, road racing - C-speedracing.com

This seems to be a good guide to look at to get a general idea about the difficulty of performing a swap. Many people have done them by themselves over a weekend. It really isn't that difficult of a swap, as long as you research what you are doing and get the corresponding manual for your car.

Your power goal of 170-180 could be accomplished with a B18C1. I would say something about how you could get a D16Z6 and boost it, but I'm sure someone that is more knowledgeable about it will post information.

Appreciate the info, website looks good...Going by the price though I would prob have to do a B16 with 170HP...thanks for the Post, anyone else reading Any other info is still appreciated

B16s are a good platform to work off of. There are plenty of aftermarket parts for it as well because it is a very popular engine swap to do. It is also a popular swap since it isn't all that expensive compared to a B18C1.

Oh and if you found my information helpful you could +rep me *hint hint*

STOP BEGGING FOR REP NOOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

You have to have at least 1,000 posts and a sweet-ass House avatar before you're allowed to do that, lol...:D

Anyway, to the OP: yes, you can bolt a D16Z6 (92-95 EX/Si engine) onto your stock transmission, but the gear ratios won't be ideal. I would just go ahead and get the whole swap, they're not all that expensive.

If you want to go the B-series route, I'd recommend a B16 or LS swap. Neither of them are horribly expensive, and they're both good motor choices for an EG Civic.

Rep = Reputation Points

If someone gives you good advice or makes a funny comment or a dumb comment or whatever, you can click on the little silver scale thing underneath their name and avatar, and then it will ask you if you approve or disapprove of their comment, and allows you to leave them a little message to read.

That's what the little green boxes with the numbers you see underneath people's names are, it's their reputation on the site.
