anyone here have any experience with Vizio HDTV's? i found this one at Wal-Mart:

Vizio 26" LCD HDTV with Digital Tuner, VW26L - Wal-Mart

it seems to have pretty good reviews on it and for the price its definately not too shabby i think. just wondering because im looking at getting a new TV as the TV i have now is about 10+ years old and its the tube style and take up quite of space...lol. it works fine but i want something more hi-tech. anyways, lemme know what ya think and give any and all input.

I was going to buy one, but for a little bit more I bought the Polaroid 42" LCD HDTV. A friend of mine has the Vizio and he loves it

something as small as a 26, i wouldn't worry too much about quality... pretty much any picture will look good on it due to it's small size.

we have a 42" vizio plasma at work, and i'm totally un-impressed with it. would never want that for my main tv. but it's certainly going to be better than your 1985 tube tv :)

I have a 26" Westinghouse that is like 2-3 years old in my bedroom. The tv has a damn good picture for what it is. If you have a few extra bucks go with a 32. I used to have mine in my living room. At the time it was selling for close to 900 bucks but the box had a hole in it so they were selling it for 500. At the time I couldn't pass it up, and I could see that the styrofoam wasn't hit. I would say get the biggest screen size in the best quality tv you can afford. The 26" I never really regretted buying, knowing that it was going into my bedroom when I got s bigger one for the living room, but it I wished that I had gotten a 32 instead. I sit 8 -10 feet back and it was difficult to read text sometimes.
Smaller tv's are usually clear due to their size, and you won't see any 1080p tvs in this size. With regular cable my westinghouse 26" lcd looks better than my 40" 1080p Sony Bravia lcd. I was considering a Vizio until a buddy of mine was saying they looked horrible with anything but an hd signal. Look at the tv's and see what you like the best.
Also what will you be hooking up to this tv? Do you have a surround sound? Make sure the tv you are looking at has enough inputs for what you want to use it for.

well i want a flat screen and its an HD LCD one and thats what im looking for. i dont have alot of money to spend on a new tv and im looking for the best and biggest i can get with the money i have ($500 roughly). anything i get is better than the 19" regular tv i own now.

i have a stereo (not surround sound...i need a center channel speaker for what i have to have surround sound), dvd player, PS2 and of course the Direct TV box as well.

i've heard the same thing
This might be a fact... We have a 37 inch Vizio LCD in the break room at my job and it looks like complete and utter ass. I have a tube TV that looks 10x's better, seriously. The problem could be that they are running straight coax to it but in all honesty, it shouldn't look as bad as it does.

I've had a Vizio GV47L 47" 1080p LCD for about a week now. I don't watch tv much at all, it's mainly for my xbox 360. Personally, I think it looks incredible for the money. I hadn't really heard much about them, so I read up before I bought it. I'm really glad I did.

yeah from what ive read on their website and on the Wal-Mart site, they have really good reviews on them. im still stuck on the fence tho whether i wanna make that big of a purchase now or wait a bit longer and see if the price drops more on them...

the price will always drop on tech stuff. especially when the next gen of the model comes out.

i would just say save your money unless you really NEED a new tv. it's a frivolous expense, and you debt, hold out. if not...spend away.

unless you have HD programming, i'd pass on it for now.. save your money for a better quality TV that looks good on both digital and digitalHD

you can be like me and buy a 56" DLP just for 360 :)

I only saw them in the store and thought about it also, almost bought it but decided to save the money for something better, but I've heard they weren't too bad.

I have a 32" in the bedroom, I also have these little 20 inchers that I don't know what to do with, I think I'm gonna put one in the kitchen and maybe one in the bathroom.

I too bought a value-brand LCD TV. It's 20 inches, and I honestly don't know how it looks with cable-tv inputs, because I don't have cable. S-Video looks good, component looks great, and VGA looks awesome.

Cheap tvs have cheap tuners with no post-processing, so if you don't have a high-quality (not necessarily HD) tuner, I would either spend a little more on the TV, or buy a decent tuner, which ever costs less. The biggest thing with value-brand tvs, is that they have NO POST-PROCESSING hardware, so if the source is good, it'll look good.

According to engadgetHD, vizio TVs are going to drop prices around thanksgiving, and get bigger for less around the same time, check it out. Posts tagged Vizio at Engadget HD

Black Friday.. duh.. i'd hold out until then.. you'll have more money saved and can get way better quality for a tad more

go into a walmart and look at it...and then see if you can find a better deal (if your going to buy it online). Reviews about picture be damned. Its your eyes...its gonna be your tv. Make sure you like it before you buy it.
