VTEC YO!
I started my b16 turbo for the first time last night in about 4 months cuz ive been building it....ran a little boggy at first while idling but came out of it...idled nice...when i'd get the r's up it would smoke a little out of the valve cover and the pcv cuz i had to re-rout it so it would go to the intake of my turbo....what are your guys' ideas?
 
its pcv and it means positive crank ventilation....and yes i hooked it up to a nipple on the intake for the turbo because i cant keep it connected to the intake manifold because it will be pressurized and the crank case cant be pressurized or else shit will go bad
 
between the line that goes from intake manifold to the crank gas catch box , there is a valve that avoids pressure to go in to the direction of the crank, actually is attached to the intake manifold close to the inyectors !

thanks for the heads up...ill have to check it out....but what do you think about the smoke? ...i was thinking blow by...but there new rings...but i was thinking if i didn't have the ring gap (not) lined up...so thats what i was thinkin
 
The PCV is a one way valve, which keeps boost from doing what your thinking, when it overcomes vacuum.

But in that same frame of mind, didn't you think the same thing would happen to your brake booster?

I don't know what your smoke is. I don't know how hard you've drivin it. Seems to me you don't have the waste gate hooked up properly. Maybe you ruined the rings. idk

yeah thats what i was thinkin too...:S but i pulled the pistons and the ring gaps were very close so im guessing that it was blow by because of the rings and i did a compression test on them and the two i checked that had low compression has the messed up rings....does anyone know what the compression should be for 8.5:1 C/R?
