I'm sure if they quoted him $54,000 and it was on paper with a full deposit made, they would have to honor it.

I don't believe he was quoted a price, he may have been but originally the $54,000 was a price he was told on another forum, IIRC.

So, you're telling me BMW's are overpriced? No way.

take a look at where the car is located, north hollywood! i just looked at an m3 at the local bmw dealer and it was not 100k.

I've been saying this all along, B makes a good point (when we talk) that his area doesn't move a lot of BMWs so they might not get marked up much over MSRP but down here in the DC/VA/MD area, I'm sure they'll get marked up a lot.

I understand this, but even $70k without the mark up is much more than $54k.

that one particular dealership sucks.

i can walk out the door base for 58k, optioned how i want it for 62k, fully loaded for 65k.

54k was never a price point on the coupe..... the sedan is a couple K cheaper than the coupe

I just was in the BMW dealer yesterday with my mom, while she was finalizing the papers for her 328i.

The M3 in showroom was going for $55k. He said that if you get it in the states, you've got to pay the import/export, luxury, and the retail taxes, and that'll take it up to about $75k. Ahhh, the benefits of being over here with the military.

EDIT:
That $55k includes the shipping to the USA too.
