i have been looking for kits that have garrett turbos. own a fully built gsr motor coming this spring and it needs a turbo. ive been researching prior to buying. my interests are the garrett gt3076r capable of 500hp, which is good for my my goal. any sites out there that have kits with this turbo.

i know guys, Im pulling my hair out cuz ive googled this many times. maybe its my keywords i dont know but i cant find what im looking for

dont get a kit. piece together your own.

If you have a goal of more then 350hp....make that 250 hp, then a "kit" is the last thing you want. You definitely want to build your own "kit", then you are using the parts to your specifications. Again, you'll have to do some research to determine which would be the best for your setup but it will be a much better decision in the long run.

yea ive been thinking about piecing one together but i thought it would be a hassle that way. what i mean by that is, i buy a gt3076r, where do i find a turbo manifold that fits the turbo AND my motor.

turbo's have a flange such as T3 or T4 (for T3/T4 has bolt holes for either) which is the flange that bolts to the exhaust manifold. you can find T3/T4 manifolds literally everywhere. do equal length runners, not necessarily ramhorn style (those tend to be the most expensive), a log style would suffice. if the turbo has a flange other than T3/T4, you can make an adapter plate. the next part of the equation has to do with wastegate placement. the turbo number u gave seems to say it's an internal wastegate after a quick search, so you will most likely want an exhaust manifold without a mount for an external wastegate. if it does require an external wastegate, make sure you buy an exhast manifold with a wastegate flange.

do you realize what you're getting yourself into? that turbo is no joke. do you have a 2nd vehicle as a daily driver? if you don't, re-think evertyhing right now.

B, it seems reasonable that since he said it's coming in the spring, he is driving something in the mean time that he's not in a hurry..

nope for last year ive been putting all my money into my Honda. motor purchase and parts total well over 15 thousand so far. i dont have another car, ive been set on this build for a while. why should i worry or "rethink everything over". fast spool turbo is what im looking for.

coming soon-turbo, fuel sys upgrade and tune

yea every one thinks im nuts for going so far with this motor. I probably wont be able to drive around like normal. im thinking about buying a cummins after my honda is done.keep the honda in the garage (sometimes hehe) and show people that i have 500hp civic haha.

I would say that if you want 500whp , I will be piecing all together very carefully, with good quality parts , and B is right , I don't think it will be pleasant to have that car as daily driven, lot of power .!

yea i dont know about driving it everyday. your right, im dealing with alot of power here and cant be daily driven. everyone makes it sound like " you'll blow the motor" or "that motor wont last". wtf, time, money, and precision will make this motor run for what its made for.

guess this, my next door neighbor has a corvette with a 350 pushing around 330 hp. hes been helping me with the swap loaning me tools advice and everything else. hes a motor head, but he does not like the fact that my 4cyl will beat the sh1t out of his vette. he calls my car "jap crap". my "jap crap" fully built turbo gsr will smoke your @ss. please comment. i want to show him this thread. let him know that he is dealing with a 500hp+ beast. get sm0ked

if you guys want pics of this vette, his garage is attached to mine. and i can show you what he has. but until then, l8ter

I don't really think that you'll need 500whp to beat that corvette, I would try with 250whp first , depending of the weight of your car, is that a coupe ? or hatch ? , the corvette is very heavy , (depending of the corvette) , but even if it is a coupe 98 it's probably half of the weight of the vette , I raced with a 355whp 3000gt ! and he couldn't catch my 250whp hatch :D , you have to think about the weight,, what don't you post a couple of pics of your car and the engine, we all here can recommend good stuff for your proyect , and I can say that corvette is not that much thing . you will smoookkeeee hiiiimm
