94 Ls automatic into 92 civic dx

Hi,
I bought a 94 ls auto and am tring to drop it in a 92 dx hatch. I was told that this would be a direct bolt with the ls mounts but after getting it in the car it is about an inch to wide. Can any one help me or give me some advice besides replacing it with a manual tranny. I plan to swap at a later time.

the LS MANUAL is a bolt-in swap.

The auto trans may be to large to clear the motor bay, so sorry, the only advice I can give is what you don't want :-\

You'd figure it would have to work though, since the EG and DC chassis are almost exactly the same...

The motor bay in the teg I'd almost bet is a bit deeper.

To the OP:

You DID take all the mounts and brackets OFF the engine before trying to lower it in right?

Yes i took every thing off and we found it was an inch wider and an automatic would not work.
so note to all an ls automatic will not drop right into a eg with out mods.
