Got Rice?
Alright lets get it started, first off im not painting the dash.

Here is my question, How in the hell do I get paint off of my CRX interior panels and dash?

I bought the CRX like this and I want to get rid of this ricey sh*t. I thought about paint stripper and the more common means of removing paint. But don't want to hurt the dash and panels any more than I have to.

Any help is very appreciated!!!

its a shame when you get the ricer aftermath... probably be better to replace the entire dash

Nailpolish remover will do the trick, but it will be very time consuming. Just go easy with paint thinner and a soft brush.

^^^Tell me about it my first rex was riced on the outside, with an awsome completely stock interior...this one was an easy fix, its just to bad it was jacked!

Now this one has a riced out interior, with an OK exterior.

Never heard of that, guess ill try that on a little area to see how it turns out.

Thanks for the info, you get a rep:)

Nail polish remover is pretty much acetone which you can probably get a home depot or any paint store.

for the hard plastic pieces..get a rag and aircraft stripper(walmart has it) pour the stripper on the pieces and let it set for like2-3 minutes..then get to scrubbin with the rag..just dont leave it on too long..it will eat the platic over time...

I've also had luck using brake cleaner on harder plastic parts, but a good idea to test any cleaner on a small spot so it doesn't ruin the whole piece.

Yes do test spots. Don't use anything to strong as it can melt your panels. IS the paint in good condition or is it peeling off? If its not peeling and is relatively smooth I would use so will bond (liquid deglosser) and just paint over it.

brake fluid works better than brake cleaner, just remembered that. A friend of mine soaked his center console in that when it was painted silver, and took a toothbrush to scrub it off as to not damage it.
