Poorman said he did not know whether White -- who was accompanied by his wife at the time of the incident --- was inside or outside of his car during the shooting, or whether White acted in self-defense.
"I think that's probably why the shots were fired, but I'd be speculating," Poorman said.
lets hear what happened first
sidenote:
i was driving to work today cruising a 55mph at 60 with my cruise control on
nice straight road, travel it everyday no big deal
i come up to an intersection where i have no stop sign and the right of way, and a car is waiting to make a left across my lane to get onto the road i am traveling in the opposite direction
i get about 20 yards from the intersection and the car jerks forward, looked like it was pulling out
i thought it was going to pull in front of my so i slammed on the brakes and slid through the intersection, threw my car in reverse to back up and have a nice chat
decided it wasn't worth my time and smashed my throttle to the floor and took off
a off-duty sheriff was coming the other direction in his personal vehicle and just saw me take off, so he decided to turn around and follow me
i saw this car catching up to me and the guy had a pen and paper by the steering wheel, obviously writing down my plate number, so i stopped my car and got out
first thing he does is flash his picture ID that says sheriff and i see his gun
he asked what the problem was and i explained to him
first thing he said was why were you going 60? i said its a 55mph speed limit, everyone does 60 on their commute on that road, oh...ok
why'd you take off like that
well, that lady almost pulled out in front of me so i was going to go back and talk to her but thought better of it and took off cause i was pissed
ooh, alright, take it easy
and off we went
so not all cops are assholes
