yeah, old news really, but if you make it yourself it could easily average out to about 46c per gallon.
but you have to have the equipment and knowhow to do it.
plus, i think that cold weather gives problems, im pretty sure that you have to insulate your tank really well so the shit doesnt harden.
but im not positive on that.

look up Mike Rowes Dirty Jobs on discovery.com
he did one where he rode with a guy to collect his grease and turn it into fuel. the guy said it cast him about 46c per gallon.

it's also illegal in most states.

why? because you don't pay taxes on it... and those taxes go to the roads/plowing/maintence/etc

That too.

that pic is about right on w/ the prices here..

I would kill for gas that only cost $2.50 a gallon, it's about $3.40 a gallon here.

yeah, i remember sub $1 gas too... and it was when i had the del sol (2nd car)
top off for $10. those were the days.

this is such BS, we should have a boston T party, dumping millions of gallons of oil into the water

wait, oil companies beat us too it

You can run your diesel off your home heating tank as well, for $2.45 or whatever it is a gallon.

But like B said, highly illegal.

Illegal because you can't be taxed?

so what if I bought an electric car and charged it with solar panels I install on the roof of my house, I wouln't pay road tax then

how is this any different then England overtaxing salt and making boiling water illegal in India?

Your state may require registration of such vehicle that specially tags it.

Oregon is REALLY funky about their road tax lately. They were thinking of taking the tax off the pumps for those with a GPS tracker recently.

The lowest I remember gas being, and me actually paying for it was like 1.48 a gal. I used to be able to throw $20 at my dad's Silverado and almost fill it from empty.

Nowadays $20 won't even fill my civic.

"Seasonal refinery shutdowns" my ass.

And heating oil at $2.45? Where the hell did you buy that? 2005?

We just paid $3.74 a gallon for heating oil. All 170 gallons of it.

Fark man. I had a 300 gallon tank back in my old apartment. I have gas now, and I wouldn't trade for anything. It's like $100 or so a month.
