im swapping a b16a into my 90 dx hatch. starting with a bare block and building from there. at the moment i have everything but the connecting rods. i have pr3 pistons which use the press fit wrist pins. all the rods i see use full floating pistons! does anyone know who makes forged rods that dont need floating pins?

Eagle Rods are a pressed rod they are good and cheap and there new style 3/8 bolt they use is alot better now good for boost/nitrous engines specially for NA whips!

Peace!

eagle only has rods for a b16a using floating pistons. they dont make press fit rods..or at least thats what im told. every person ive called about rods says they only have floating

i forget, are you going n/a or turbo?

from what i'm reading, eagle does make forged rods for stock H22 pistons only. but it's old info.

most people that posted info in some old post i googled are alright on stock rods doing n/a. if you going turbo why not do forged pistons anyway? they also commented on shot-peening the oem rods. but you know, i have no experiance in a motor.

ya on eagle's site, you can tell that it's basicly an assumption that forged rods dont work with stock pistons. they only specify it with the H22.

what

idk why the link shows up as "what", i pasted the url. haha

was gonna turbo but im all motor now. i was talking to mark and casey and i changed my mind. i was gonna go to checkered flag imports on broadway and order stock b16 rods but 300 bucks for stockers? i really wanted to find some forged rods. im gonna at least get some arp bolts tho

aw that's lame why'd they talk you into all motor? i'm going boost on stock internals next winter, and doing a full rebuild for good boost sometime after.

did you end up finding a head? if so, getting head work done?

well i just figured cost and stuff and they pointed some things out to me so i decided to go all motor.... and no head as of yet but im thinkin of buying a brand new bare head and port and polishing goin with stage 2 cams. the head is the power plant of the motor after all
