Ok so now that I'm owed well over $6,000 and I don't see it coming to me anytime soon I'm going to HAVE to find another job. I was hoping to find something that pays decent money which means no grocery/department stores, fast food, etc....
I work hard and never slack off and so my question to you guys is do any of you know of a decent place hiring? I live in NE TN but I would relocate for decent money. After this last job and all the sacrifices I made for it I'm in an extremely tight position meaning I have maybe $300 to get by until I find something else. It looks like I may have to revert back to living in the old crx...lol

give it time.... he will be through any second
as soon as you posted something about wanting a job the ASS (Airjockey Sikorsky Signal) went up in the sky... there is actually a giant "S" over his hotel right now (he is in FLA on business)... any second he will stop masturbating to JDM porno, put down one of the coronas he is holding, and jump online to post up a link to any and all job offerings at Sikorsky

I'm in the same spot, I just got called for my second interviews at 2 companies. The pay is far below what I'm worth, but my value was drastically decreased when I got convicted of a felony.

This is a huge step for me, since I've been looking for employment for months. Anyway, one is at Honda, in the body shop, I'll end up just being a detailer if they hire me, my 2nd interview is tomorrow, pay is set above minimum wage, but still a mere $8.50/hr. I shouldn't complain because I can't get a job for shit and although my time is worth much more than that, I need income.

The other is at a company which makes raw materials for production of magnets, I applied for the chemical operator position, my second interview is on Monday. Pay is slightly higher at $11.00/hr. Still less than I'm worth but I'll take what I can get.

If you're moving, stay far far away from NJ, even if you got a decent paying job, the cost of living is so ridiculous, you'd still be down and out and living out of your car.

Why don't you sift through all the crap on Craigslist and see if you come up with anything? At least then you can look at other areas also.

yea I saw links in some other thread to that but I believe they all needed experience and that is something I have absolutely none of but I'm young and willing to learn so hopefully something will happen, hell Id pull 14 hour days 7 days a week if thats what it takes, I'm definetly not afraid of work.

lol whatever gets me by...the most I've ever made anywhere was $8/hr but I do have a perfect record with not so much as a speeding ticket so I hope that will increase my chances somewhere.

I've tried that and monster too but I see nothing that would suit me as I don't have much experience in much of anything but I do have my hs diploma but thats about it really. If I was to make any decent kind of money I'd have to take training most likely but I won't complain about that I'm willing to put forth all the effort needed and then some just to get by and get out of this streak of failure the rest of my family seems to have,

try something like discount tires, firestone, les schwab or something like that. get to work around cars, get benefits and everything.

you could also try construction. it's good pay and they are always looking for yard hands.

have you checked out the local porn shops, peep shows, and preview rooms
they are almost always hiring... true you'll probly have to start off as a jiz moper... but hey... its a job

Having no work experience won't necessarily keep you from getting a job. You should really analyze your skills and figure out what you are good at and what you need to be good at for the jobs you want. Pretty much any job that doesn't strictly require some cert or degree will train the right person. It's all about getting in the door for an interview and showing them your that right person, that them investing the time and $ in training you will come back to them many times over.

The job I recently got is technically way out of my league. I do drafting for large scale residential homes. I'm talking mostly 10,000+ square feet. I do have schooling in architecture, but am nowhere near finishing my degree, haven't even transferred out of the junior college yet. As far as work experience, my last job that I worked at was my first drafting job. We did outdoor stuff like patio covers and decks, so I didn't have any idea of what is involved in getting a real house built. The plans I used to draw were very simple site plans and mostly elevations, and simple 3d stuff for the client to envision the project. By looking at my resume, though, you wouldn't think my knowledge of the building process was lacking in any way. I didn't lie on my resume at all, just emphasized all of the strong points to get me an interview. When I got to this job, I was at first like "oh shit, what have I gotten myself into?" but I just learned quickly and now I got the hang of it.

Basically, my point is, even if you don't "qualify" for the job, send your resume anyway, the most you can get is a "no". shit, I was applying for full on architect positions, hoping maybe they'd like me and throw me in as a drafter. You have nothing to lose. I looked through the resumes here of the people I was competing with for this job and all of them had multiple years experience drafting real stuff, and at least 1/4 of them had either architecture or engineering degrees.

eewwww :puke:I could never handle a job at a porn shop. fuckin weirdos hang around those places

:werd:
a lot of times places will actually see it as an asset that you have limited or no experience... it means you dont have any bad habits yet and they can mold you into whatever they want / need

Yep. That's exactly what my supervisor told me was one of the benefits of hiring me. Also, don't think having no experience will hold you back with the pay, I told them that I was worth the top of the pay range, and backed it up with reasons, and settled for a buck under the top.

for clayton: Sikorsky

lol

don't be put off by only having a high school diploma. That's all I have, that's all clayton has, that's all E has, that's all turbomirage has...

we all worked our asses off and learned something and got good jobs. you can do it too.

It's all about your resume'. 99% of the time, you'll need to be trained to do it how they do it anyway as every place is different.

Find something you're interested in... and then get a resume' built around it.

Blab about your customer service skills, people interaction, management potential, interest in the niche, etc etc

don't dis the Sik....

I looked at my paycheck last night...and I've already made $30,600+ since Jan 1st.

Mid March 1st quarter earnings in the 30's rules...and tonight is triple time for good friday. $90 an hour for 8 hours...and I'm only on the clock for 6.5 hours.... I'll take $720 for doing what I do normally...

And don't worry about experience....if your knowledgeable about something, then they will know it at the interview.

work 6.5 hours and get paid $720.... had to type it twice to rub it in....

Lol. So true.

And try and find a construction job. It sucks when it rains, snows, etc. but its so fucking worth it. I just do residential, where there isn't much money for starting out, but I still way more than any of my buddies bussing tables or bagging groceries.

Thanks man that makes me feel alot better about things +1 for you.

I feel you guys on the job thing. It is not my intention to thread jack, but after being with UPS for almost thirteen years now, they started cutting everyones hours. All of my overtime got cut, so I myself am looking for a second job. Ironically, as soon as I get one of my cars back, I am almost guaranteed working at the UPS airport with another company. The pay rate is $9.50 an hour, only three hours a day, but hey, since I have to be so flexible in my Supervisor job, that will work for me.

For all that are seeking employment, I wish you the best of luck.
