i was just wondering on what engine to buy b/c ive seen both of them engines run a fast 1/4 mile time and ive seen some vids on them engines were sometimes the d serious beats the b serious so im kinda confused on what to but.

im buildin an eg hatch its a mix between daily and a race car.

im also wondering what is the max horsepower and torque i can get on both the engines and thats with a turbo so if yall could throw me some numbers id appriciate it alot.

How much horsepower can a given motor make on turbo? Are you serious? A B16 could probably make 1,000 horsepower if you throw enough money at it. You need to provide us with some info (your budget, mechanical inclination, etc.) and ask questions that are more narrow in scope.

Research is your friend. There are articles on the pros and cons of different motors in the FAQ section of this site, plus about a million threads with people asking similar questions to yours. Go do some reading and then come back and ask something more specific...

ive saw 1100whp b series, but we need to know what your goal and budget are

Vids? I've never seen one that powerful, not even on youtube.
i would love to find that vid i found it a few years ago on the net, but then lost it all i remember is the dyno pull and its a blue si 99-00..and i also remember that it showed it out running a busa and a 1000hp supra

I think all of the questions may have overwhelmed him. haha

In a D-series you'll probably max out around 450-500 whp, while any B will easily hit closer to 1,000 whp. That's maxed out of course. Depends what power you want to make, I'm only going for like 250-300 max so I swapped in a d15b vtec.

well my budget right now is abou 5-7k but i can save from work to get more money wen i need to. and like i said im building a race/ daily car and im mechanically blessed and i have other friends that have shops and dyno and all the good things that i need to get it where i need it

how do you build a race/ daily car? anything competitive on the track as a "race car" can't be a daily, and a daily will never compete as a "race car".

Stickers. Lots of stickers. If you paint your valve cover, you get an extra 30 hp. If it's a D series, it also add's 5 lbs of tq. If you pour sugar into your gas tank and antifreeze into your oil, you're sure to beat any car out there and you don't even need any numbers.

They do though.

Alright, well then here's my serious response to the OP (not reading any other posts, so if something has already been covered, then ignore):

How much money do you want to spend, and what car is it going in? D series are obviously cheaper as far as money than B series, but B's do come with more stock power, and can easily handle more power with less modification.

Nevermind, I just read what car it's going in. When you say mix between a race car and a daily car, do you mean a daily car that has enough umph to win against most other cars on the street, in say a red-light drag race?

I don't know about B, but I think that D's with stock internals tuned great can handle up to 225hp, but I don't know about B's.

I guess I don't see a reason, since I didn't see a budget, why you couldn't quadruple that, with enough time, research, and tuning.

his budget is 5-7 k

I think the obvious answer here is a B is better but it depends on your preference. A b series is capable of more power.

Some people like the D turboed with a vitara setup others like a fully built turbo D with name brand parts and others like stock B or built B. You'll get all kinds of answers but is one better than the other, that depends on how you look at it.

ok well let me say this again so everyon aint confused bout it
1)i have right now about 5000-7000 and i have a job also so i can save to get more money
2im puting it into an eg hatch
3))i want a car that i could drive everyday no problem but also have enough balls to go up against someone in a 1/4 mile or also take to the track
4)im going to put as much as i need to get it all out to the best of my ability so think about turbo cams, gears, possible ported all of it EXCEPT nos
