Beer is good for you.
Ok...

A guy owns a 94 integra. He likes the 98 bumper cover better cause its one peice. So he buys it figuring it will be all good. Well sort of. All the hardware underneath is different. The headlights and signal lights are different too. I had the brains to buy the lip for the 98 but not the lights, which are now on the way...

I hate learning things the hard way...

:withstupid:

haha, oops.

i learned something like that a long ass time ago. my gf had a 99 civic coupe and i thought my 95 taillights would work. sue me, it was before i was on HS>

Thank god this wasn't about assuming she just had razor burn.

This is the pitfall of the 84-87 and 88-91 Civic crews. It's NOT the same. No where near the same. Looks the same from a distance, but it's not.

Did you know the differences between the Mazda 3 and the MazdaSpeed 3 ? Those are two TOTALLY different cars, when it comes down to it. "Nothing" swaps over (Except stupid shit)

I am under the assumption i can make this thing fit. Am I wrong?

"Make it fit" can happen in any way. From "Copious amounts of zipties and tape" to "complete clip swap"

I've seen who have "made fit" 280Z noses to 240SXs (It's not too uncommon anymore). So as all these questions, it's up to you.

I'm doing a completely custom rewire on my car, with 4 "ECUs" and individual throttle body control. Can I do it ? Remains to be seen.

Yes, you can convert the front bumper over

should have gotten the jdm front end

i don't think you need to swap the rad support unless you're going jdm front end

You should try working with older Fords. Man, NOTHING is the same, even within a particular year.

All of the parts were totally cobbled together from what was laying around.

I thought about it, and perhaps in the future I will. Right now its not worth the investment given the other things that need to be donw. On the other hand I feel that i would lose a bit of the car's identity if I added the jdm front end. Its an american GSR and the bug eyes are iconic.

Iconic in a tiny miniscule microchasm of Honda enthusiasts. My car is iconic too, but most even car collectors trip over it ...

.. and then spit on the hood.

Don't do anything with a Honda, or any modern car, expecting to get a rise out of people. Do these things for yourself.

Absolutely.

Wait til i get more work done on my blog. You will see how much work i am putting into this thing. For every bit i purchase i restore another two. Lately I've been spraying wd40 into the screw holes and working out the rust with a wire brush. If I'm gonna invest the money in the engine the rest of it is gonna be worthy of carrying it around.

That and if i don't get a hold of the deterioration now New England will destroy it in a few more years.

I've actually been happy with the idea of building perfect engines, and moving them from car to car :)

And yes, I have engines sitting on display stands as decorations. One of which is from my Vega, which is still sitting in my garage, and I'm making monthly payments on :)

I'll pass along a little golden nugget of info that was passed to me when i first got into cars

"working on cars is a delicate art of beating the shit out of it with a hammer"

:)

Amen.

You should have seen me "fixing" my driver's side quarter panel. It looked more like a snuff film... At some point this thing had been rear ended and all bent out of shape, mostly on the rear drivers side. I drilled a few holes, used a few hooks, but basically whooped the shit out of it. Granted they were well placed and deliberate blows. It was indeed an delicate ass whooping...

You don't need to replace the entire radiator support, but you will need the 98+ headlights and bumper lenses for sure.

And yes you are correct. I gave the thing a more intensive inspection today. I unbolted the fenders and moved them around a bit. There are no "bolt ons" in body work I have found. Everything has to be lined up and adjusted even if it is a honda part.

In my case i have a chinese knockoff and a genuine honda fender. Both needed tweaking. I need to get the left and right fender supports screwed back into the bumper cover. I got another chinese knockoff to save money. The plastic isn't as firm as the original but it will do the job adequately. I may need to shape it a bit with a heat gun though.

Learn by doing...
