My purchase:

Smith and Wesson SW40VE handgun. 14 round clip with one in the chamber. Got a free 2nd clip and a 50 pack of range bullets.

I wasn't feelin' the 9mm guns. They just weren't doing it for me, and most everyone at the store and my buddy all say get a 40 get a 40. I looked at the Glock 40s, and holy crap... 100-250 bucks more than the S&W 40s. Plus I get a 50 dollar rebate back and an extra clip free of charge.

Pictures!

The case with the gun loaded, 14 in the clip one in the chamber.

Congrats, I'm sure Recked is happy lol. I sincerely hope I can legally own a hand gun when I turn 21. I am a proud owner of a 12 gauge that I am skilled with, but I hate shooting other's pistols at the range cause I am not getting used to just one. I want to find one that is perfect for me and hit a marble from 15 yards away while walking. Practice like it's going out of fucking style!

Oh, and BDN... Go get some kevlar for God's sake.

oh god, blazer ammo... there .22 ammo sucked ass.. kept jamming my gun..

i bought a 9mm because its the cheapest ammo for a "personal protection" based weapon

good luck with it :)

Nice buy, and good call with the .40 cal. I've shot my old G36 (.45ACP) and my current old school S&W 936 (9mm), and .40 is a happy medium for me. Although....

I would have gotten an M&P .40. It's my next gun, and with a decent trigger job out of the box is shoots circles around Glock 22's. The Sigma is a good gun, but I've always thought it looked cheap.

Still, S&W is the way to go for a good gun. Too many guys at my range are buying up Tauruses and Berettas. I'd love to have a .40 cal Glock, but the prices they fetch are close to ridiculous, and even well used or factory refurbs are still cash money.

Thanks. I just got the cheapest ammo for the firing range I could. 12.99/50 pack of ammo. The hollow points which I will get later are like 25.xx/50 pack.

people that talk about them selves in the third person should not own guns

James thinks recked was brainwashed by reckeds' S10.

My buddy has the M&P 40, because well he's a Sheriff and uses it more for self and family protection. I bought mine for some self protection and just to take it to the firing range.

The Glocks were just too damn expensive.

i got my glock 19 for 400, used... but glocks will last forever if taken care of well.. i pay that for a box of 100 rounds in 9 mm :)

also, walmart is the bestplace to buy ammo :D

I paid $409 + tax for this, with a second clip, brand new... and I have a 50 dollar mail in rebate.

All told, it was $45x.xx, minus the rebate when I get it back.

welcome to the club

now go find a range and practice with that damn thing until shooting it is as natural as pointing your finger

Nice purchase. I'm looking to purchase my mom a handgun, but not as large.

One thing I've noticed man. You buy random shit and tend to whine in the financial thread about your lack of savings. NOT to be a dick. I just noticed this among your posts.

:ditto:

Not to be a dick either but you are always saying you don't have money. You just put windows on your house, the tv, surround sound, and this gun. I think you are either doing alright financially or you are putting yourself in debt.

Anyways nice gun. Get some range time in with it.

if you have a range with a decent rental selection or just a bunch of friends with guns, try to get her to shoot several different guns to be sure she gets something she is comfortable with

check out this site Cornered Cat

specifically these sections (but go through the rest as well)

replace the word "wife" with "mother" Cornered Cat - Buying a Gun for Your Wife

hehe speaking of that thread... he will soon understand what i was saying when i said

any money i have saved at the end of the month is invested in copper, brass, and lead then slung down range at 1200fps
:gunfight:

:lmao:

I have no complaints about my glock 9mm. It's a military issue too. Fifteen in the clip, one in the chamber. All black, plastic. Will shoot through sand, dirt, water whatever. And with a hollow tipped bullet, it will shoot through anything depending on the range. Never jams up. I'm a fan. :)

my only complaint about Glock is the shitty ergonomics of the grip that just dont fucking work for me at all

false. hollow points are generally intended to cause the bullet to expand upon entering a target in order to decrease penetration and disrupt more tissue as it travels through the target.
