Okay, I have a 1997 acura CL (2.2L)

It is sickeningly heavy. Close to 2 tons. I can't put an intake on this car without the check engine light going, on (some stupid sensor bullshit that has no place to fit with an aftermarket intake)
anyways... Its slow, and too heavy, those are my main points, and ripping out seats and all that jazz won't do shit. So don't suggest it.

Anybody done b16 or b18 swaps into 89 accords? Because there is one down the st from me that i sold to a chick for $900 and i'm considering selling my Acura (115,000 miles) and buying the car back and using the rest of the money for mods on the accord (89 LXi.)

What do you guys think? don't call me a dumbass or noob or whatever, because I could care less. I know that i dont know much about swaps soooo therefore i'm turning to you guys for help, lemme know.

What is an EF? is that an old civic?

I personally really like the look of the 89 accord coupes

That would be a difficult car to swap any motor with potential into because IIRC that car has an A series motor. So honestly to save yourself money and time, either find an older civic and swap away or stick with the accord in all it glory....with the stock motor.

haha you prick...

Yeah obviously, I found that out after purchasing the car. I didn't look anything up prior to buying it because at the time, I wasn't interested in buy a car to fuck around with and beat the shit out of. Oh well.

And as for your question, looks don't really matter to me, unless of course we're talking about the ladies. Theres something about a good old rust bucket that can rip that gets me every time.

ps. What's with all of this lame ass n00b shit? Were you honestly an expert on cars at age 18? Did you research and research prior to joining a forum on the internet to avoid lame ass individuals like yourself insulting you?

no, i didn't. i didn't know shit in the beginning. you can even check my first posts. the only reason i said anything was because you said for nobody to comment the posted something really stupid. ^_^

if you don't want to have a luxury car, which a cl is, then trade it for an eg with a gsr swap or something.

I'll second getting an EG with a gsr swap.

Well then, excuse my hostility man!

dumbass n00b.

just keep the CL. it's not supposed to be fast. it's a damn luxury car. would you seriously rather have a car 10 years older that looks beat to shit or something smooth and clean?

I've got an 03 CL-S and it'll beat the bag out of any N/A swapped Honda short of a K-series EG/EF...?

I've seen an H22 in a couple 3g Accords, but its alot of work...from what I remember they used 92-95 Civic H22 mounts and made custom brackets to bolt it in (cutout the old brackets)...then theres the wiring

and yeah, theres a couple B-series swapped 3rd gens around...search, they're easy enough to find

I'd stick with the CL. Save up and buy another car to 'play' with.

I used to have the same car with an auto in the beginning but eventually converted it to 5 speed. If I would have kept it and not got my truck I would've dumped an H22 into it with some sort of turbo.....shit, even the H22 is 50 more HP than the F23 you have. And I did a intake on that and never had a check engine light on so something isn't right. Also did a full exhaust, brake upgrades, and a full sway bar setup which companies so they don't make but if you cross them over sway bars from 90-97 from any Accord will fit it. That car handled like it was on rails after I was done despite it's weight. And if you have an auto trans I don't recommend beating in it since they are fragile pieces of shit. And for the thought, the H22 will bolt right into that car since it's the same as an Accord and your trans will bolt up to a H22 also. You can either get a OBD2 H22 engine or any other one and put a OBD2 oil pump on it since the crank sesnor is mounted down there instead of the distributor. And that's my 2 cents
