Ok I am working out some bugs with my JDM type-R swap into a 97hx. I am using a 98 USDM type-R ecu. I did the CKF and the oil sensor bypass. Car runs grate but I have some CEL codes coming up like p0133 Primary HO2S Circuit Slow Response (Sensor 1) and p1457 EVAP Emission Control System Leak Detected (Control Canister System). Things I did to the evap. I had to trick the FTP with a resister. My car does not have a FTP and I had to put in a Charcoal Canister with the vent shut valve. The gas cap is good and so are all the lines what am I missing??? Any help would be nice and NO I am not going to go to a p28 ecu I just want to get my car to pass Pa plug in test.

Thanks Wolfy

get your self and obd2 LS ecu and run it through then plug your old ecu back in that might be the easiest way to go other then that i dont know what to tell you

Use the Ls ecu??? I am going to still have the prob with the evap. The ecu is still going to look for every thing.

p1457 is EVAP. If it says there is a leak, than find the leak. You may have connected your canister up wrong as well. This would be so much easier to do in person. As far as your other code, that is for your heated oxygen sensor, bank1 is usually up by the exhaust manifold. Slow response usually indicates resistance in the wiring or a faulty o2 sensor. Check the wiring from the o2 sensor harness clip to the engine harness. If its fine then replace the o2 sensor and clear all the cel codes. Drive it and see if the code comes back for it. Most likely, you need a new o2 sensor.

If he does that then won't he throw codes related to the lack of v-tec control, as well as encounter an overall lack of drivability.

I am geting a new o2 soon but for the p1457 EVAP. There is NO leak and the car did not have half of the evap to start with the car is a HX the only evap sensor there was is the one on the intake. No other sensor's on the car for evap.

Hey

How may sensours are there for the evap??? I have one on the intake one on the can and for the FTP I tricked it any thing am I missing????

Bank 1 is O2-1 and bank 2 is O2-2

Bank refers to a bank of cylinders. Any V configured engine has 2, obviously. Since a 4 cylinder only has 1 bank, you will never get a code for ANYTHING on Bank 2. When you do, let me know, because your engine may have sprouted another side and turned into a V8...

On a 4 cylinder, doesn't OBD2 recognize the motor as bank 1 only? Or did you mean sensor 1?

Bank 1 is the engine. For example, if scanning an obd2 eight cylinder engine, Bank 1 would be the side that cylinder #1 is located. Bank 2 is the opposite. When the exhaust comes together and meets as one (on single exhaust v8's), after they meet as one, it becomes bank 1 again. So if you get a code for Bank 1, sensor 2, than it would be the o2 sensor after that calaytic converter. If it were bank1 sensor 1, than it would be the o2 at the manifold.

Now, looking at it at a four cylinder point of view, Bank 1 is considered the engine. Sensor 1 is considered the o2 sensor at the manifold and sensor 2 is the o2 after the catalytic converter. This being an obd2 four cylinder car.

LOL. Let me know too. :)

hey

Yea I think I just droped me in a v8 my bad. lol Any way I need to know more aboy the evap than the O2. Like how may sensor's there are and what I need to ad to get my code to go a way.

OMGEEEZY I will! It may be a double edged sword though as then I'd be in the market for some pricey new engine management and would probably be snapping a lot of axles. Of course, that is if it turned itself into an LS1. If it turned into an early 80's emissions laden post-gas-crisis 5.0, I would have been better off with my beastly 1.8!

Oh, I figured it out. The problem is that you are doing a sawp. If you were to do a swap instead of a sawp, I'm sure you would encounter much better results!

hey

What the hell are you talking about????? PPL did this swap 100000x but this is my first and no one has any info on doing it?????
