In a previous thread, a bunch of you guys recommended getting these
Buy PIC Apex - Honda

Will I need to get a camber kit? I was looking at a thread from a long time ago, and from what some of you said, it seems like I might.

if you lower a car any you need the kit.

If not your buying tires everytime you turn around

if you lower your car more than a 1.6 inches you will need a camber kit. but if not dont worry about one

Camber does not wear the tires, Caster does. After you make any suspension modifications it is recommended to have an alignment done. Camber kits are not always needed. Keep in mind, Camber has roughly a 10% affect on your tire wear. A good alignment after you modify your suspension is way better than any camber kit.

camber is the angle of the wheel, measured in degrees, when viewed from the front of the vehicle. If the top of the wheel is leaning out from the center of the car, then the camber is positive ,if it's leaning in, then the camber is negative

when your car has a bad camber from being lowered the top of the rim will go in toward the car making the tire run just on the outer edge of it. wearing it down super fast

Camber changes with driving speeds. Just get an alignment after you alter the suspension.

Ok thanks. I figured an alignment wouldn't hurt. I just wasn't sure about the camber kit part. So I won't be needing a camber kit unless I lower my car more than 1.6 inches?

I wouldn't go by that. Have the alignment done after your suspension is installed. Drive it. If you notice tire wear after that, no matter how low your car is, than look into a camber kit.

That sounds like a good idea, I'll do that. Thanks.

+rep for you
edit: Darn, I must spread some around before giving it to you again.

if you dont lower more than 1.6 you shouldnt need a camber kit, ut it will need a aligenment so just ask the guy when he does it if it needs one or if he can get it in spec, and he should say yea we can get it in spec without a camber kit

Ok.

Hey Chaz,

just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you that i lowered mine 1.2" (springs not coilovers) and i had to put a camber kit on the front MAJORLY.

i went with a cheap kit (rhino adjustable upper control arms) they failed in less then a month. so i tossed them and bought the Skunk2 Pro Series control arms WOW! that made a HUGE difference. ive had them on my car since last august, i push my car pretty hard and have had NO failure or anything.

$200 off of ebay and came with a warranty. ill never doubt the money i spent on them, id look into if i were you, just my 2 cents.

ive always had to put adjustable control arms on all my hondas. i've always used Eibach springs (the mild ones) and have needed to adjust the camber. when you lower your car, your toe will be off by about 4-5 degrees positive depending on how far down it goes.

when you get your coilovers put on (easy to do yourself by the way, i can do it in about a hour for the front 30 for the rear) set them right in the middle and have your allignment set to that, because your always gonna be finding that you are gonna wanna adjust your height (at least i did on my CRX ALOT) and this way you wont have to adjust your alignment often cause it will be pretty close wether you got up or down with the height.

again, just my opinion after the experiences ive had with my last set.

I'l probably just try what LS_VTEC says first. If I need a camber kit, I'll probably just go with a Skunk2 kit.

i'd agree to that. go for it and see how it goes, but please do take my advice on the skunk2 pro series, i wasted my money on the lower level junk.

just trying to save you some money.

edit... actually i just realized you have an eg.. the standard blox/skunk2 kits will be fine but dont buy the LOW end knock offs LOL. i put a set on my girls dc2 and they are fine but i wished i went skunk2 route.

the reason i went pro series on the ek was how the bushings on the control arms meet up to the chassis. it just twists the hell outta basic rubber bushings. on the pro's, they have bushings with bearings in them. super nice ride and really helps settle down bouncieness

you have a EK right?

Yea I know better than to buy cheap crap. I bought some cheap strut bars on a whim, and Blanco gave me a stern talking to about them lol. I was able to offload them for the price I paid so it's all good.

I'm planning on getting those PIC Apex coilovers, Skunk2 Camber kit (if needed), Skunk2 LCAs, Password JDM 3 point front strut bar, Password JDM rear strut bar, and a 22mm rear sway bar.

Then eventually a B18c1 from Hmotorsonline. Hoping for the end of summer.

Nope I have a 1992 Civic DX sedan. I like my sedan, it's nice having four doors.

if you dont want your car that low go with the skunk2 lowering spring. I suggest you get some differnt shocks too. This will save you alot of money instead of buying the whole coilover suspension.
