93AccordEX

New Member
Well yea i got my first car a 1993 accord from some old guy down the road. he thought the tranny was shot. It had a leak.... New line and its fixed.

before that i honestly didn't like Honda now im in love with them.

I just bought a fully stock 90 Civic DX and i was planning a swap but now i think i wanna boost to learn about it.

How many PSI should i run on the engine stock?

i also would like to know if there are any upgrades i should do first.

Thanks in advance!

You really need to use the search option. I can answer your questions but it would take me a complete day to do so. The information is out there, just search.

Is it carbureted? If so I'd consider swapping to MPFI before you do anything else. Carburetors don't lend themselves well to tuning in the context of a turbo setup...

No its EFI

Glad to see you though Brutal you always seem to be a good helpful person.

At least so far....

Negative, you aren't giving us enough information. You do have to search and research a little so you know what you want.

Power Goal?
Budget?
What is this car going to be used for (Full out race Auto-X or Drag, Daily......etc.)?

Then we can give you advice and opinion.

when it comes to turbo the right question is.... well there is not a right question... sorry.
then, research, research, research, research, research, and research some more.

bdw that lifted honda in your avatar kicks ass!!!!

I personally wouldn't go over 7psi (on stock internals) to be reliable. You could go higher, but sooner or later you'll go boom!
there is a really good bock you could get is called Maximum Boost, I heard nothing but good things about it.
here is a link to amazon Amazon.com: Maximum Boost: Designing, Testing, and Installing Turbocharger Systems (Engineering and Performance): Corky Bell: Books

This guy's a genius mind reader who can see into the future.

Apparently he knows exactly what parts you're going to buy, what size turbo you're gonna get, etc.

We can't tell you what a safe boost level would be without know what parts you plan on using.

I wouldn't push that motor past 150 hp

hahaha I see the lotto numbers:huh: I wish.... he asked for a number and I gave him one. Also I suggested to read about turbos before he gets into them. you are right , we can't tell what will be safe for him. heheh the turbo subject is like abortion or the death penalty. Everybody has a different opinion and everybody is right you just have to look at the variables.

thats good cause i was gunna start on 8psi so if i blow it up it will just help me learn

and 92civicb18b1 i did say "i just wanna know how many psi i should run on the motor stock"

but yea please no fighting. lets stay calm.... STAY CALM!!!

+rep to maykelci

you need to research more. go check out the info on forced induction both in the tech articles and the reference materials.

8psi on a small turbo is much different than 8psi on a large turbo. CFM is key.

You know what, you're right, you know exactly what you're talking about.
When you figure out why I said what I said, you'll realize I'm not posting just to post.

It doesn't matter if your motor is stock or fully built, no one can give you an answer on "how many pounds should I run?" without knowing AT LEAST which turbo you're going to use.

This kid answer means nothing, when you put that 60/63 T3 on your motor and run 8 psi and blow it, let me know so I can say I told you so.

so then tell me what you want to know.

i am here simply for help.

if i had any idea on how to do this shit i wouldn't be asking. :)

so do you think i could run 8psi on a small turbo?

i just want a little extra power. i mostly wanna do this whole project to learn about turbo systems.

and id give you good rep too but i already did a while ago so it wont let me

Do you have ANY idea how many questions like this have been asked?

Literally throusands. PLEASE don't waste our valuable time answering these stupid questions over and over again. We will give you all the hints you need.

But in all honesty, trust a professional article over what a bunch of people on a forum told you. Do your own reasearch like everyone else :)

We have a reference section!
We have a general tech section!

BOTH have everything your talking about. And if you want further information, use the Search feature. And on top of that use google. or Hondoogle

noobie, we rn't your mom, we dont spoon feed you ^_^ (that's a joke)
