How do you figure?

They don't offer drivers for Vista, so if you have any older (pre vista) sound cards, you're shit outta luck, and have to buy a Vista ready sound card, that also doesn't work 100% a guy makes drivers that allows people to use any sound blaster card with Vista (while CL says drivers can't be had) and then they shit a brick.

F them.

Thats like buying a 2008 Civic, only to find out that in 2009 it stops working. Honda says, ohwell, buy a 2009 model, however some guy figures out a way to make it work so you don't have to buy a new car. Honda flips out because it can't sell you a brand new car, even though your old car is in perfect condition. How do you not have a problem with that?

I've been on to the beta drivers website

Home - Creative Labs: Connect

looked at the 'report a driver issue' for the latest beta drivers

http://connect.creativelabs.com/beta/Lists/Driver%20Issues/AllItems.aspx

There is some angry people leaving abusive messages which is not on, but look at a reply from the creative coders after someone left a load of abuse

'Ok, I see a lot of negativity here. Please lets cut the bad talk. We try our best to get working drivers and sure we might not be the best coders but god knows you're really only paying for the low end cards anyway, if people want the professional stuff they would be getting the true pro stuff, its a get what you pay for thing, so don't complain so much, we'll get the drivers working eventually.'

I know they have a hard job but that response from the coders is just a bad as the abuse that people are hurling at them, and what do they mean 'but god knows you're really only paying for the low end cards anyway, if people want the professional stuff they would be getting the true pro stuff, its a get what you pay for thing, so don't complain so much, we'll get the drivers working eventually'

That just sounded terrible and has left me with an even worse perception with them who develop the drivers ....

Can someone from creative or a coder elaborate on this statement ?

I guess we should take note from a Creative employee....

You think that's bad? Try getting the Linux X-Fi drivers to work. I still have that card IN BOX under my desk because they screwed the pooch so bad on that.

$60 takes it. Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi PCI soundcard. NOT the Fatal1ty card, sorry :( Never been used, put in PC once. Everything included.

neat. i have an old SBLive PCI card that worked great with vista using the XP drivers.

although, i never really liked creative to begin with.

that was posted yesterday.. ever think they havent had time to pull them
As such, effective tommorow morning newegg.com will suspend sales of the sound cards in question, particularly those indicated as "Vista compatible", pending an investigation into the matter.

It's "tommorow" already.

go check it out yourself, they were as of 12pm selling vista certified products.

creative has been promising working vista drivers for a while.. they were the shit on xp, you can get the cheapy value and softmod to their platinum line, but seems like its down the gutters on vista.

neway, most newer and nicer boards have great onboard audio and some even come as separate modules. on top of that, some video cards even support hdmi so as far i can tell, it seems like sound cards will be a thing of the past except for a hand ful of people.
