So I sold a bunch of textbooks on Half.com a couple months ago. They sold quickly and I shipped them all out on time, with no apparent problems. Now, today I get an email saying that there is a chargeback on one of the sales. Ebay says that either, 1) I didn't ship the book, or 2)The book was bought with insufficient funds.

I know damn well the books were shipped. Ebay wants a tracking # to prove that they were shipped. The problem there is that my gf shipped them and doesn't have the info anymore. This was 2 fucking months ago, why would I even keep that shit around.

I sent the buyer a message asking wtf is going on. Ebay is bullshit now too because sellers can no longer leave feedback, so this bitch can keep doing this shit again.

Any ideas? I'm going to try calling ebay and talking to them, but I doubt I'll get anywhere with em.

once past 30 days they cant do shit.. or something like that.. not sure exactly
Ebays email says they are going to debit my seller account. I might just go close my bank account anyway today. I've kept it at $0.00 for a few weeks and just dealt w/ cash because I want to close it, but I think that they will still be able to take the $ back anyway.

They shouldnt be able to take the money anyway, unless you have a credit reserve.

I was figuring they'd take it from the bank account i have on file w/ them. Half.com goes straight to your checking account, not Paypal

im thinking they will still be able to take the money from your bank even if there is 0 in there. then the bank will just charge you kinda like a bounced check. so go cancel it

^Thats why I was saying the credit reserve thing. Or account overdraft. Different banks call it different things.

how did they ship? usps? ups? fed ex? dhl?

any chance you still have the cash receipt? ie, you paid with a credit card and got a receipt?

sucks, I think it was paid w/ cash @ USPS. I called them and they said they can't pull up any info w/o the tracking #. My gf probably lost the receipt

If ebay takes the $60 out of my account, I'm gonna be taking a trip up to Anaheim to this bitches house.

at usps.com, you can get trackers from the receipt id

look for it

even cash, you should get a receipt

yea, but I'm sure its lost. I'm gonna try to see if she still has it. These were her books, but I had an account already on half.com so I used that.

sucker
what if she never sent them?

i bet this chick ordered the book for next semester, but the prof changed the required book so she's trying to fuck you now

Na, she sent em. I'm sure of that part.

as for the reason for the chargeback, yea, that's very possible. She probably dropped the class and didn't need the book

i mailed some shit a while back for amazon. they say to send it "media shipping". well, i found out that media sits at the bottom of the barrell until there is enough room to ship it. thats why it's dirt cheap. i had to refund the money and they still got the fucking books. i was out over $100 because of the stupid post office.

I'm with Nick on this.

I shipped a few books after Christmas and all but one arrived shortly after they were shipped. 3 weeks later I received an e-mail that the one person hadn't received their book yet. I was confused since this person was in Ohio and the others were in Florida and California. Certainly the shipment to Ohio should have been faster...

I lost out on $50 because I shipped the books media mail. The post office damaged the book and then threw through the book out, where it was scanned in as damaged, due to "visible damage". Since its media mail there's no insurance. When I called the post master, he said that I had no alternative routes to pursue. I had to refund the buyer the money.

USPS - 1
Ian - 0

***Half.com does just debit your account.

FedEx blew up sideskirts that I shipped out months ago and then returned them to myself, when the buyer refused to take shipment due to the damage. At least in that ordeal I was intelligent and had insurance. It took a little bit of research and filling out some forms to receive my refund.

Fuck. i remember that they were shipped Media mail. Guess I'm screwed. I think that even if i closed my account, Wells Fargo will probably pay them the $ then take the matter up with me. What do you guys think?
