I have an 1997 H22A4 motor and have been trying to get headers to go with my new setup, but all I can find are headers for 92-96 models. I was wondering if these would fit on. I cant imagine that big of a difference in the years especially from 96 to 97 unless they dont put it down on the applications because of the OBD change. My engine was converted to OBD1. If anyone knows if the 92-95/6 headers will fit up to my 97 let me know or if you know a good manufacturer of headers for the 97-00 years.

the H22 wasnt introduced for stock Preludes till 97-01.....

92-96 only came stock with the F22 and the H23....

so OBD has nothing to do with them being different....

and here is a header for ya:

it should fit not matter if its a jdm 1994 h22a obd1 or a usdm 99 h22

I was looking for something with a bigger collector cause i have a lot of NA mods and are hoping to put out like 250 to the wheels

you'll need agressive cams and JDM type S pistons if you are going to do that.

exactly what im doing, type s pistons, sleeving, forged eagle rods, lightened flywheel/crank pulley, cams and valvetrain, fuel pump and fuel injectors...

if your gonna go thru that kind of work... just pick up a F22 block for $50 and build that up and slap on your H22 head.... stronger block and cheaper then resleaving

Are you sure about that? I'm fairly certain that there were three submodels, the S, the Si, and the Si/VTEC, which came with an H22 from the factory. I know a guy who had one of these, it had factory VTEC emblems and everything.

93 prelude si came with vtec stock, and all other years until 97 had a choice of vtec or non vtec.

Not quite. There were actually three versions offered from 93-96...

S - Base model, single-cam F22 engine, no VTEC

Si - Sportier model, dual-cam H23 engine and four wheel disk brakes, still no VTEC

Si/VTEC (or just VTEC from 94 on) - H22 VTEC engine, even larger disk brakes

ummmm no....the h22 began in 93. it was made standard in the 97+.

why do you think there are obd1 h22's??

and yes the obd does have something to do with them being different!
