i am fairly new to the tuner seen i have been hearing a lot about boosted vs non boosted and things of the such. but i wanted to know is what is it when you boost your car. is it jus another way of saying modifying

That's one way of looking at it, however; if your car is boosted, it's probably turbo'ed.

Boost = Forced Induction, i.e. turbo, supercharging, etc.

and the uncomon other usage of boosted would mean theft.

"steve's car got boosted in gary. that sucked"

but yup, mainly it means forced induction.
