Help with YS1 Tranny

i have a 92 integra GS with the YS1 in it and its pretty noisy all the time but worse in 3rd gear. i was told its probably the main bearing and i have a spare gear set with all the synchros and gears and shaft and whatnot but i dont know if i should buy a rebuilt ys1 and change them out or just change the gears out. i have no clue how much a rebuilt ys1 costs or how much work would be needed to change the gears so let me know somethin. anything will help lol
 
fix the one you have if you are capable of doing it, save your self some money. I'd suggest replacing the counter shaft bearings and the input shaft bearing. The input one seems to get noisey in most Hondas, 2nd and 3rd gear seem to be the abused gears also for obvious reasons so if you have a good gearset use it. To get even just a synchro you have to buy a whole gearset.

The bolded portion of your quote tells me you are incapable of rebuilding your trans. A transmission is not something an amateur should jump into.

So what I'm saying is buy another trans.
