I saw that this morning, its pretty lame he was a cool guy.

Time to get that gun from his cold dead hand and shove it up his cold dead ass. Can't knock him for "Omega Man", but he(and his) were pricks about guns.

Yeah, gotta hate those people who stand up for constitutional rights. The only people worse are like...those guys who stood up for human rights. Assholes.

/sarcasm.

But serious, RIP for a good spokesperson, and actor.

:ufucktard:

Even though he wasn't the president of the nra anymore, he still had a great influence. Has a gun owner and member of the nra I will miss him.

You people are confusing the issue. He was a dick. I never said owning a gun is wrong. "Standing up for a right" is different from "Having nothing better to do than get on a high-horse and piss in peoples faces with your slippery-slope nonsense".

i wonder what happens in the afterlife to people that played god's favorites in da movies? :hmm:

RIP, CH.

God: Yo Charlie, do your Moses act again.
Charlton Heston: LET MY PEOPLE GO!
Moses: Har de fuckin har har
Jesus: (giggles)

:lmao: dude if i hadna just repped you for the ninjas everywhere, i'd rep you for this.

Was watching CNN today at work, and I guess Heston marched with MLK a few times. Pretty impressive for someone of his status at that time.

If you don't think owning a gun is wrong, then what's wrong with participating in an organization that aims to keep gun ownership legal for responsible citizens? If liberals had their way any and all violent crime would be blamed on the weapons rather than the perpetrators, and no one would be able to own guns at all, well, aside from the gang bangers who already illegally own them anyway...

Do you even know anything about the NRA? Are you under the impression that Charlton Hesston (and "his own") were fond of riding through town on horses and haphazardly shooting pistols or what?

I will stand for your second if you stand for my first and fourth.

The point is that people that write letters, protest, and front organizations have nothing better to do. Something or someone obviously slighted them once, and they're going to be in the spolight about something no matter what. Issues that should be dealt with personally and privately (of the self - not the society wide issue).

I don't care for people who make it their life's work to publicly spearhead a cause. It's fine that you work toward feeding children in africa, or are against abortion, or want to protect an amendment - just dont start throwing paint on me, bombing places, or setting up national press to distribute your message which is just a way for you to vent and impress on others.

The squeaky wheel should get its' grease, but the bitching wheel should be replaced.

I have absolutely no problem with that. :D

And I do understand that a lot of the causes out there become vehicles for "look at me" kind of people, but I don't think believe that all such causes and their associated organizations are necessarily born from that.

My point was simply that if no one ever does make a stink about this kind of thing then liberals would be all too happy to take guns away from everybody, which wouldn't accomplish jack since the majority of people perpatrating violent crimes with weapons aren't registered and have no qualms about breaking the law anyway.

Sorry for the threadjack...
