ambitious...but rubbish
so this is what I've been working on for the past month, 1995 cx hatch with 1.6 Y7 engine and tranny.

so far lowered on cheap coilovers.
needs exhaust
needs radiator cap
needs a lot of cleaning out the interior (no stains, just dog hair)
needs front bumper
needs replacement rear fenders

the general idea is to gradually fix the body and paint it satin black like a modern rat-rod, maybe even some pinstriping, I have about $900 for my half of the tax refund soon so I'm going to see how much I can knock off the list starting with the back fenders and possibly a set of front fenders from password JDM.

someone my mom works with at our church works in a bodyshop and has his own paintbooth at his house, if I help with a lot of the labor and prep he will cut me a good deal and I get to learn how to do bodywork right.

before...

sounds like a good deal on paint and body work. that thing has a bad case of cancer though. clean it, paint it, and put in a b16 and you'll have a fun little car.

yes to everything but the B16, I got the Y7 engine and trans thats in there for $350 w/92K and now I'm done with engine mods for a while, maybe after I find another 82 toyota truck I will boost it.

I wouldnt suggest passwordjdm for fenders. Their prices are super high and rape you on their shipping.

I guess I wasn't thinking there, I can get reg. new fenders from certifit and buy a dremel to put the holes for the sidemarkers and still probably save cash.

certi-fit has fenders that have the cut outs already. just remember though, they wont fit as good as oem.

I couldn't find the ones with the cutouts but two fenders for $100 and I can pick them up in St. Paul no shipping;)

and two of these Civic Hatchback 92-95

has anybody had these rear quarters installed? I was just wondrering ball park what I'm looking to get them attached correctly.

well, slowly but surely I'm making a bit of progress, got my radiator cap, changed the oil took it for a drive runs great decent power and no leaks.

it felt a little funny like it wouldn't rev all the way but with no tach, I just didn't know, my friend I got the car from told me to change the ECU to one from an LX that was laying on the floor of the car when I got it, since I thought all OBD 1 ecu's would be the same for no VTEC, I thought he was smokin' (it was 4/20).

I looked and the ECU in the car was a PO5, the LX is a PO6. it made a huge difference and it will beat the ass out of my wife's EX now.

I also got a front bumper for cheap

my exhaust did not work because the CX flange wouldn't fit tight over the header collector it was way too small, I attempted to fix this on a sunday which turned out ot be not so smart because now I homemede a beautiful header flange on a anvil I found at my dad's, the pipe and I measured it before I bought it, wouldn't fit over the pipe so I trashed the whole thing and clamped on a turbo muffler I had to my flange and now it hangs about an inch off the ground and rattles.

the GReddy wont fit at an angle and it weighs about 25 pounds, so I'm not using it, the Raptor POS muffler I got for $20 has a beautiful bass note and really light so I'm going to use that with 2" pipe all the way back I am going to try and find some dual tips like a stock crx Si but bigger.

been polishing the crap out of the engine and installed my grant steering wheel.
