I'd rather crash in neither. I'd rather crash in a humongous fucking SUV with A+ five-star crash test ratings. But guess what? I don't want to pay the gas bills or the insurance bills and I just don't really like driving huge vehicles on a daily basis. Pick either one, it doesn't really matter. The ratings are very similar, so I don't really know what you're asking for here or why you bothered to even post those links. We're not privy to any secret crash test data on those cars that you can't look up yourself...

If you choose to drive a compact car then you're going to sacrifice some degree of safety for the benefits of gas mileage, that's just a simple fact. You have to decide whether or not the much-improved fuel economy is worth the slight compromise in safety. For me, it is. I don't waste my life away worrying about whether or not I'm going to be in a fatal car accident on any given day of the week...if you do, then maybe you should buy a bigger vehicle...

And yes, I realize this is the same shit we already told you in your other thread, but you don't seem to be getting it, so I don't see what else there is to do but explain it one more time and hope it finally sinks in...

But it probably won't...

Lmfao, stop asking the same question in different threads noob. :ban:

I chose the civic. I wouldn't be caught dead in a Toyota.

motherfuckin:werd:

those things are BADASS

Buy a Volvo and get over it already. Shit happens and worrying about it like you are is just going to give you a painful ulcer.
If uit makes you feel any better, I already have a stomach ulcer, though it was induced by school, not me worrying.

Why would that make me feel better? You're a worry wart and it's going to make you a very unhappy person in years to come. Very, unhappy.

:werd: you're supposed to try and live life to it's fullest, not cower in a corner because you're afraid you could die at any minute.

:concur:
doesnt matter what the hell you do... at the end of it all... you're gunna die... might as well enjoy the ride

But that doesn't mean we're saying you should take unnecessary risks. We're just saying don't live life always being afraid of dying. Don't look for death, but don't be afraid of it either.

You guys are fucking childish, to say I shouldn't worry about these things is simply childish. You won't be singing that same tune 10-20yrs from now I'm sure of it, or well unless of course you have nothing to live for. I'm pretty sure for you guys you don't even consider crash test ratings, why else would you berate me for even considering this?

have you guys ever heard stories about how preventive measures effect the future. for example, if you buy a big and safe 80's sedan, the brakes will be worn out and you'll crash through a wall.

it always happens like that. if it's your time to go, you're gonna go.

take the bus if you're so damn concerned.

Quite wrong actually. I have looked at crash test ratings. If I could afford a safer car I might buy one. But seeing as my Civic is the best I can do, I don't worry about it.

In 10-20 years I'll have a family most likely, if I'm worried about safety, I sure as hell won't come on Hondaswap and bitch about it. I'll go out and buy a car with 5 star crash ratings. So I don't even know what point you're trying to make.

You can worry about them all you want. If you buy a Civic though, you obviously aren't concerned about it. No amount of making a Civic safer is going to make it as safe as a brand new car with 5 star crash ratings. If you really care, go plunk down the money for a new car.

EDIT: CHRIST 4 responses at once holy shit, well 2 at the same exact time. 4 if you count the ones that weren't there before I started typing my post up.
