ok well as the title says im kinda confused on the whole ecu deal here. my build i have a 94 b18c1 block with a i believe an 88 or 89 b16a head from a crx. and a soon to be hondata p28 ecu. i believe the engine harness is from the 94 gsr. my question is will all this work????????? becuase i know the block is obd1 the head is obd0 and the ecu is originally from a del sol lol...... and to be brutally honest i dont know what harness i have?! can anyone help me with this one cuz i dunno what to do or if i dont need to do anything at all.
thanks.........

what injectors do you have because if you have obd0 your going to need to wire in a resistor box. thats all I can think of that you will need

that was gonna be my second question i dont have any injectors the swap didnt come with injectors or a fuel rail....... and to be completely honest i dont know what kind of harness i really have is there any way to ID it????

and say if the harness is out of the 94 gsr, could i just swap out the dizzy on the b16a head with an OBD1 dizzy and just call it a day and get injectors for a stock OBD1 gsr?????????????

There is no need for a resistor box when using the original obd0 injectors in an obd0 car.

yes that should be fine, get the fuel rail and the injectors and you should be golden

What car is all this going into? A del sol?

If so, you will need an obd1 distributor, obd1 injector clips, and an obd1 vtec ecu, or a chipped p28.

thats the thing its not going in an OBD0 car im putting this swap into my 93 del sol si. so what should be the final verdict?????
so far i know i have a
94 gsr block OBD1
88-89 b16a head OBD0
a hondata p28 ecu
93 del sol si OBD1
i believe its the 94 gsr harness
i think this is all right

so what would i need to do?????
id much rather just get the dizzy and the injector clips if that would be ok to do lol

There is no need for a resistor box when using the original obd0 injectors in an obd0 car.

he has a 94 wiring harness which is obd1 and a obd0 head, the obd0 head would have used a resitor box for the injectors

I have an obd0 head in my obd1 car and I have no resistor box buddy. :)

obd1 injector clips, obd1 distributor, obd1 ecu and keep the harness that is in the car now. You may need to use some of the connectors/plugs from the gsr harness, but there is no need for you to swap the whole engine harness out just because your using an obd0 head.

your going to need a tranny, axles, shift linkage from a vtec model del sol and motor mounts yet. your stock duel coil radiator should be enough

alright well are the obd0 injectors saturated or peak and hold?

well thats good to know I was actually buiding the same motor, gsr block, b16 head for a high compression nos setup

alright well are the obd0 injectors saturated or peak and hold?

Most obd0 civics are wired for peak and hold and have a resistor box. Obd1/2 civics are wired for saturated with no resistor box. You are correct about the resistor box being used in an obd1 w/obd0 injectors though I like to go the obd1 clip route or re-pin the connectors. Rywire offers a service for this and I think its around 50-60 bucks.

Saturated injectors have a higher impedence than peak and hold and operate at a higher ohm range (resistance) and they remain on for the whole pulse width, unlike peak and hold.

whoa wait. my d16 harness will work with my b18c1 block and b16a head?????????

obd1 injector clips, obd1 distributor, obd1 ecu and keep the harness that is in the car now. You may need to use some of the connectors/plugs from the gsr harness, but there is no need for you to swap the whole engine harness out just because your using an obd0 head.
