OKay. I have yet to post a question on this board.

here is the issue(s). so I thought I had a bad F Filter. i replaced that and put some gas in my car and it started just fine. I went out the next morning to start it and when I turned the key to the 'start' position the car acted like there was no power. when I put the key back to the 2 position, nothing happened. i waited a few minuted and the dash lights came back. I went to start it again and the same thing happened. I had to wait longer this time.
I bypassed the starting system and the starter just clicked, so I replaced that. when I went to start it again THE SAME THING HAPPENED!
Now I have a new starter and a new electrical problems. SOMETIMES the dash turnes on when in the 2 position , aometimes it doesn't.
Now , after checking all the grounds I could see, the dash only turns VERY dim and the car just clicks when I try to start it. ALSO some switch in the seatbelts(on the door) will click whenever I hit the brakes. I don't know WTF is going on , but I'm really pissed

This is a 90 civic hatch with a 91 b18a1 engine.

when you hit the brakes, the click is probably the key lock solinoid in the steering colum. i bet you hear it if you put your ear there. right above where u put the key in the ignition. that's normal.

sounds like the battery voltage is too low, or maybe the main relay is going out. check those out. please search if you dont know about either of those. stuff about each everywhere.

I pulled the door panel off. its deff somethiing in the seatbelt . this car has all manual options . I pulled the main relay and all of the points had plenty of solder and were connected.

ive searched about the main relay and I don't think it is that. i dont think it is the battery cuz I used my charger , which has a start mode, and that didn't work either

now when I get the key on position 2 the lights are very dim, but my multimeter reads 13.7v

did it ever function correctly before or is this been happening ever since the swap?

your ignition switch can be bad. i've heard they can cause all sorts of symptoms, all of which fit your descriptions. read your service manual for the procedure to check it. they have some manuals available for download on this site if you search around.

lets see what the results of the easy things are. i have diagrams i can give him as well

HAHAHA

Whoever hacked my car together didn't know how to ground anything. I cleaned up all the surfaces at the ground points and fixed the main ground to battery, now it fires up like a charm. thanks forthe help guys
