So, I go to order my PIC Apex's today and the card is declined. I put $900 in my account today specifically to purchase them. I can see it online in my online account access thing. I even ran my card today at work to withdraw $5 and it worked.

I got an email from the guy there that said that some cards don't work properly depending on the bank. Right now I do all my banking with Navy Federal Credit Union. It's suited me fine until I got a debit card.

I was thinking Bank Of America. It seems like everyone I ring up at work has a debit card with them.

My friend has good things to say about WaMu, but I never see those cards at work, so that leads me to believe they are inferior.

So right now I'm leaning heavily towards Bank of America, anyone have any objections against them?

*raises hand* I do. They charge too damn much to keep your freakin' money. I bank with a Credit Union again and all they require is a $5.00 balance in my savings in order to keep everything active, though I have reached zero more times than once and have had the account for almost thirteen years. :D

If I had to, I would go with WaMu versus Bank of America.

Your bank could possibly have a daily limit for purchases. I believe the limit on my debit card is between $400 and $500 a day, which sucks if I want to buy something that costs more. I would call your bank, especially if you are happy with them, and find out what is going on.

Another option would be to get a low interest credit card through your bank...though I do not endorse having others get credit cards, as most can't hold themselves back and get themselves into trouble. Either way, good luck my friend.

I just checked the website and it says

Daily limits*: $2,500 for Point-of-Sale transactions and $400 for ATM withdrawals.

What would an internet transaction be considered?

Yea I'm going to go talk to my bank on Monday. I'm just glad the PICs are back-ordered otherwise I'd be really pissed.

I'm also going to talk to my parents, they bank at BECU(Boeing Employees Credit Union). They never seem to have any problems with it so I might go with that.

I would think that would be a Point-of-Sale transaction. Let me know what you find out. I'm actually curious now as to why you weren't able to make your purchase.

Will do, I'll keep this thread updated.

I know I already said this, but I'm seriously really glad that the PICs happen to be out of stock because I've been waiting on the card for like 10 days now. And now that I have it, it can't do what I got it for.

When I ran it at work, my boss was like, "those cards are funny, we can't run them as a debit here, so we just run them as a credit"

WaMu is a great company as well as US Banks. Ive been with them for over 8 yrs and never had a problem. No "mysterious charges" and always eager to please :p

Sweet. Thanks! I've been looking for PIC for quite a while. My stupid ass could never find them. *smacks self* Do you have any idea what the different levels mean by the way?

P1 is supposedly the more street/aggressive driving setup, P2 is the aggressive driving/track use, and P3 is the race ready version.

What caused me to want to purchase them is the good things Eg6sir had to say about them in this thread of mine awhile back.https://hondaswap.com/wheels-suspen...mmended-suspension-choices-111490/#post949796

I'm going with the P1 setup.

I might have to check them out, there is a WaMu fairly close to my house. But I think I'll look into the BECU place first, that is after I talk to my bank on Monday.

Your welcome Luis998 :) thanks for the rep

Thank you for the help.

I would definitely talk to your bank first, then check out BECU and lastly, WaMu. I'm partial to credit unions.

I like Bank of America. They're fast, counter deposits show up instantly, etc. I've used only Wachovia and BoA, and I can tell you that BoA>>>"WalkOvaYa".

From what my friends have told me, Suntrust is good too. Only thing bad about Bank of America, is some branches have bad customer service(I've never experienced this but was told by someone who use to work in a Charlotte, NC branch)..

Right now Bank of America and I think Suntrust are running "incentive" programs; get like $25 for signing up. If you want, I can refer you: just PM me.

Fuck Wachovia.... They tried to screw me out of 8k when I was 16. But then again, I have a good 14.5k or so there in a High Intrest Account with them now. Other then that I normally bank with Commerce, I love that bank, they've never really given me any problems.

i was happy with BofA except for when i moved to a state that didn't have 'em. that sucked.

re: why your transaction possibly didn't go through -- some smaller banks (like my current one) only send account updates to the card companies twice a day. 8am and 3pm, for mine. so if your deposit happened after 3pm the card company won't know about it til the next business day.

if it was between 8-3pm, and you try to buy lunch in between there, you're hosed til 3pm. even though your bank balance shows the $$ online and at the branch. the card company just hasn't been made aware of it yet...

i'm pretty sure that's what happened to you.
