hey guys a have a question. will a k20 mate with a s2k trans. i have heard that the blocks are the same but i want to make sure. also what flywheels would i use and then what clutch. and insight into this that anyone can give me would be great.

thanks for your time.

k20 is fwd, f20c is rwd. what are you trying to use it for?

well i work at a honda dealership as a tech and i just did a motor on a EP3 and the old motor is was still good the head is just warped. i also have a s2k im building but the motor is blown. so i was wondering if it would work.

i have a hard time believing your a true honda tech, maybe a helper or something

If the head is warped, than the engine ran hot, obviously. More damage was probably done that you most likely will not notice. Decking the block and resurfacing the head is usually what you would do in this situation, as long as the engine can be salvaged along with new head studs/bolts and headgasket. Its also a good idea to inspect the cooling system for damage as well.

As far as the s2k transaxle mating to the k20, not happening.

If you were truly a Honda-certified mechanic you wouldn't be here on an Internet forum asking us about the validity of "something you heard"...you should already know the answer...

first off yes the head is warped but the block is straight, checked it with a straight edge. the cylinders got a little hot but they have already been honed and i replaced the rings. when it was being honed i also had it checked for straightness and magnifluxed to make sure no cracks. I am allowed to take the old parts because it was a customer pay job. we replaced this motor with a motor from a junkyard because the customer didnt want to buy a factory honda reman... As for asking about mating the two together how the hell would i know anything about that. i cant exactly do that shit at work. you know it would be alot easier just to explain why it wouldnt work.

First off the head was warped but he block was straight. i sent the block out it was check to make sure it was straight it was magnufluxed to ensure there were no cracks and the cylinders were honed and the rings were replaced. I was allowed to take the old parts because it was a customer pay job. the customer didnt want to buy a honda reman. so i put in a used motor. since there was no core i was allowed to take the motor. the picture above is where my questions arose. that is a f20c with a k series 6-speed trans.

dude you aren't a honda tech.... you would know just by looking if you truly were a tech and you would use common sense and know the FWD does not = RWD...

just because it is in a fwd dosent mean it cant work in a rwd if the rotation is the correct way for the trans. and the bellhousings mate up or you can make a adapter plate and flywheel spacer. look at all the old toyota corollas they are fwd and rwd and have the same engine and all the ruy is asking about is fitment to the trans of the s2k and the trans is what makes some thing rwd or fwd

werd... don't forget the sr20 motors.

Lay off the kid about being a technician. Technician is just a word. Im a service technician at my job but I don't have a high school diploma. The H dealership where I purchased my s2000 calls everyone in the back a technician. Maybe just to make the lube guys feel better. Who knows....

AHHVTEC is correct about being modded to work though, to an extent. If you are good at reading wiring diagrams and auotmotive wiring, it should be no trouble at all. I'm no expert on this particular swap but the only major diff. between the K and F20 is.............wait........I just caught deja vu.......https://hondaswap.com/hybrid-eg-ek-dc/f20c-possible-eg-hatch-107525/

As for you actually doing it, go for it. If a K series can be mated to a CRX, than this should be no problem.:D
