I probably sound like a retard but I am doing an oil change on a ford f150 on tuesday and I can't find anywhere on google that tells me how many quarts of oil an f150 takes. I used to have it memorized from working at Jiffy Lube, and Grease Monkey. Could anyone help me out? I would like to tell the lady how much its gonna cost her before tuesday rolls around.

at least 5qts I'd say no more than 8. why not just add oil until the dipstick says it's full ??

I think he mainly wants to know so he can quote the lady a price...

Oh and I found a Ford forum that says that it's 6 qts. But you didn't specify a year so I'm assuming it's 2000ish.

thats exactly why. Cause I will do labor for free for her but I will not buy the oil and filter. so yeah I wanna let her know how much it will cost. I guess I will just tell her 7 quarts. just to be safe.

Ask an autoparts store, I think they can look it up. Is it a 6 or an 8?

Are you joking? There are a ton of 6cyl f150s.

Damn an oil change for those cars not counting filter or labor is like $640?

The Ford straight 6 was a pretty good engine, now they have a standard 4.2l v6. Look at Fords website if you don't believe me.

thats the only good thing i can say about for the straight 6 was a awesome motor my grand pa has one still runs and drives everyday with 500,000 miles on it.

No kidding well the lady already bought the oil and stuff so I am just gonna put in what she has and if it needs more I have oil and I will just tell her and get reimbursed for it. But either way I am doing this for free since its my girl's mom and all.

yea it will be fine just fill it up good start the motor let the filter get full then check it to see how much more she needs
