while prepping the nissan to go to the insurance adjustor tomorrow, i tried to start it up....nothing.

i'ts not the battery, i hooked up the integra with some jumper cables and let it run for a while. no dash lights, no head lights, no clock, no climate control. check the fuses, cant see shit. fuse panel is in japanese. checked the fuses in the engine bay, fuses are fine but i don't know how to check if a relay is bad. fuel pump doesn't prime, fucking nothing. headlights are broke but not grounded out.

need some help....

Make sure your grounds arent corroded as well as your battery. Check terminals and all connections in/out of the relay. If your pump isnt priming and your not getting any voltage to anything else, even with a jump box/cables than there is a failure in the main circuit from the battery, out. Also, if the battery is completely discharged this will happen as well. Take the battery to a shop and have them test it for you. Good luck, Nick!

Ignition switch.

btw.... good luck.

You're probably buying 1/2 of a new car to fix this.

i was thinking that, it's a pain in the ass too. i just haven't had a chance to mess with it. i can probably get one off of a clip. i get a lot of work done locally from an importer. if i jiggle his balls, i might get one for free.

OMG. i had this same issue with my old 240. ended up having to replace the ignition switch. while i was at it i had the locks replaced too, since i needed a new ignition.

well, i decided to take the battery to get tested. it has flag pole posts rather than the regular terminals. obviously every fucking place is closed on sunday and i MUST have this working by monday afternoon.

called around, nothing open. finally took the battery to firestone. tested it, it's too dead to hold a charge or even get jumped. obviously nobody has it. turns out my friend doug who owns a shop likes to use wheelchair batteries rather than doing a relocation for sr20 swaps.

so now i have to find a wheelchair battery on a sunday since it's the only thing that fits with the right terminals. motorcycles shops didn't have it. couldn't find a local marina and there aren't any medical supply places open.

so i'm driving to costco and see a sign for a rental store. you know the kind that has card tables, lawn mowers, and other equipment and shit. the lighted billboard is flashing they have wheelchair rentals. i slam on the brakes and drag marsha in. "hey do you guys rent motorized wheelchairs?" he says yes. "got any batteries?" takes me to the back and pulls out one that is identical to mine.

how much, "$40" brand new. fucking jackpot. most of the others were $100+. take it home, fires right up. sweet.

killer!

wheelchair battery? is a miata battery too big?
fuck i dunno. i think it has different electrical connection posts. and they are on different sides.

:lmao: Good call.

Wheel chair battery? Odd.

I go the other way and use marine batteries.
