hey guys, i just bought a 00 civic si. it already has exhaust and basic bolt ons. car only has 68k on it. im wanting to piece together a turbo kit for it where i can safely and reliably get atleast 200whp. i know the stock bottom end can easily hold that. i dont want anymore that 230whp because i had way to many problem with my evo and to much power loses way to much reliablility. So what is a rough estimate of how much it will cost me to piece a kit together for my goal range and if i do it right will the car be a reliable daily driver. if not im not gonna do it because i cant afford to have the car breaking all the time like my evo. thanks guys.
 
exhaust mani: $150~1000 depending on used or new and brand, style
turbine: $100~800 depending on used or new. a T25 would be fine (used mitsubishi turbo) or a T3
tuning labor, chip: $400~1000
BOV: $50-300
wastegate if applicable: $100~400
charge piping: ~$200
downpipe: ~$100
injectors: $100~400
misc oil/coolant line, clamps, etc: $50~250
intercooler: $100~500
~GSR cams: ~$250

about $1350~$5200 on my estimates :shrug2:


it can deffinatly be reliable for 200whp DD. :thumbsup:

im doin exactly what your doing i have an 00 si i'm turbo'ing. im using s t3 super 60 greddy bov tial WG and i;ve peiced everything together for around 2300???

hey does anyone know what size injector i should shoot for with 8 psi and that setup....i've never gotten a straight answer on that on here

the amount of fuel you need is dependant on the amount of air flow that will occur through the head with the cfm of turbo taken into account.

want to find your injector size?
try this (it gives you a rough estimate...):

horsepower x B.S.F.C.
# of injectors x .80

that will give you lbs/hr
then multiply that by like 10.5 to convert it to cc/min

so like a b16a (stock):

160hp x .5
4 x .8
this will give you 25
25 x 10.5 = 262.5 i think honda uses 240cc for everything except prelude. f the smaller size they use is probably for fuel economy or lower emmissions.

on average your B.S.F.C. on a n/a car would be around .5. turbo/supercharged will be around .6.
