Ok I was at a car show today and a riced out honda was there and would never pop his hood.

He told us that it was pushin' a little over 400hp and he had a k20 swap. The reason he would never pop the hood is that he didn't want anyone to know what he had, but he'd still tell you. Makes no sense. I asked if it was turboed and he said yea and i saw no intercooler what so ever.

After setting the scene here is the question, he said he had the k20 mated to a GSR transmission. Is that even possible? I call bullshit.

it's possible with enough money, just like they make kits to mate b series trans to H series motors.......

But would there be a good reason to do such a thing?

No, K series transmissions are geared appropriately, 6 speed and that guy is just a fucking moron.

Figured he was bullshiting.
hes in a local car club and he drives a white civic with racing stripes down the middle, some nasty ass konig wheels, and a picnic table spoiler.
i think there was more dents on the car than indentions on a golf ball.

Sounds like a fucking tool to me. If you ever see him again you should tell him to stop by the forums...I'd like to ask him a few questions about his bad ass engine setup... :D

I know a kid with a GSX that with never pop his hood, but he actually really doesn't want people to know what he's running because he runs low 12s. As long as I've known him I've never seen his engine. Could be an LS1 or B-series for all I know.

But just pointing out that some people with real cars just don't like to share what their set-up is too.

True, yeah. I know people that are the same way. This kid that he's talking about though just seems like he's full of shit, unless maybe he's just playing dumb so people will think he's a stupid ricer that doesn't have a clue.

From the description of his car though, I would guess not...

Absolutely. But actually quite a lot of tuners and engine builders wont share their secrets and set-ups.

I don't show what I've got, because it's not the car as much as it's the driver. Get out on an auto-x course, and someone who's untrained in an STi could be beaten with anything, even a Fiat Cinquecento. Having a nice fast car isn't everything, you've gotta know how to use it before you can go fast.

<---very few people have seen what ive got,and some more know what ive got...
but i dont really care...im not just going to show some random people what i have,,

hes a ricer no person in there right mind would mate a GSR tranny to a K-motor..i know losts of people who dont show nothing and run 12s or closer but every once in a while u could see there motor (IE tuning checking wires, turbo, vacum lines misc.) but those that dont show and claim shit there fucking Tools

so am i a tool because i wont show,but i claim?

i wont show my engine. mostly because it's a pretty custom set-up. the fmic is hidden in the engine bay. looks totally sleeper. i tell people it has a KA with i/h/e. haha

next time I see him I'm going to ask him if he has a 1.3L rotary with pistons and see what he says.

Now, are you talking about at a car show or the random person the street?

You're supposed to pop the hood at car shows, especially if you make wild claims. Try that an old school hot rod show and you'll be ridiculed until you leave.
well, when i see a closed hood my first thought is "stolen motor".

seen it many times. swaps with vins popped off or scratched out. people don't want judges/spectators to know.

Can you prove it though? Thats what matters.
i can prove it,but it wont be by showing you what i have

this is about car shows dummy. if you were at a car show and actually wanted to win, you would pop your hood. it's part of the judging system. and you also don't have a custom swap or full race engine either. it's a whole different ball game here.
