Need help on b20b swap please!,

Hi my name is Alex and i just recently bought a 1994 eg honda civic with blown motor on it. (so basicly its just a shell) I am new to honda's and i am looking foward to get this baby on the street. so someone please help me. :)

Anyways, i am looking to buy a b20b motor and get it installed by one of my friends mechanic. And i am not looking to go vtec yet until i have plenty of cash to work with. I just want to buy it and swap it in for now. Basicly i want to make this swap as simple as possible(cause of the money). Why did i chose the b20b? because l8ter on i might decide 2 go turbo, and my friend told me a b20b ran nice on boost. With that said l i am also unsure what tranny i should go with & what other extra parts besides b series motor mounts will i need to complete the swap?


Someone please help me make a list of the parts that i need so i can get this car on the street :(

Try searching, and do some reading in the FAQ/Reference section. B-series swaps into Civics have been covered many, many times here.

Also, in the future, try actually reading and researching reputable sources rather than just going off of what your buddies tell you...
 
Turns out ive searched multiple times and every search resulted in fidings like the following.

B20b VTEC Swap
B20b Problems
B20b with B16 Head
B20b Swap On 1998 Civic
B20b Swap on 1990 Crx
B20b question

And if you actually "READ" i don't want to go VTEC.

SO Don't post on MY THREAD if you can't read , and when instead of telling me not to run out posting what my buddies told me then maybe you should ask your self what a DISCUSSION FORUM is and GOOGLE it. You should not mind me asking some questions and if you do then you should have just hit the back button on your browser and ignored my THREAD you DUMB ***K.

But no you want to be KNOWN as the *NOOB CRUSHER* So far your a DUCK with alot of post to me because you did not help me out with anything and now i know that if im looking for HONDA related questions then your not the SOURCE you DICK HEAD.

Thats a bad attitude to have around here, ppl get pissed b/c these questions get posted over and over again.
 
Let them get pissed thats why this is a discussion forum. For anyone that doesnt like what i posted.... well you know what im about to say.... Go to a HAPPY PLACE!

Anyhoo, looks like Dark93DX was able to find the exact info you were looking for by checking the FAQ section. You couldn't be bothered to look there first?

Also, I didn't say jack shit about VTEC, so stop putting words in my mouth. And don't tell me that I didn't read your post. I read everything that I respond to; I probably read through posts more carefully than a lot of people on here do. All that I said was that the subject of B-series swaps (the basic gist of how to do them) has been covered many, many times here, and that you should research first before believing what your buddies tell you.

Like mikeyg323 said, I'd be careful about boosting a stock B20B. It's basically just a bored out LS, so the sleeves are thinner and thereby weaker. Just make sure you keep the boost at a reasonably low level and get it tuned well...you fuckin' douchebag...

This thread pisses me off. B-Series swaps are all the same in a sense. The only difference is the wiring for VTEC, which you don't have to worry about.

Do some searching first next time, idiot.

You come into a forum full of information, and the first thing you do is post a new thread asking for help on something that is already covered in the reference articles very well. I'm sure I could come up with at least 50 links to pages that have a decent description of what parts are needed for a B-Series swap into your car.

Lets say you didn't know that all B-Series engines require the same mounts, shift linkage, etc.

You would have known that had you read the reference articles first.

You probably wouldn't have posted this thread in the first place had you read those articles first. All of the above questions would have been answered.
