The Trisexual
So I got a new job.

I got a job as a mechanic for a decent sized company, acceptable pay considering I have no documented experience in the field.

Worked today, pulled a big block out of some piece of shit Ford truck. Starter on an SVX, couple brake jobs.

All in all, I'm happy with the job, let's hope it lasts.

I also welded up the exhaust on my Jeep, at least so it stops rattling, maybe tomorrow I can get to the crack in the manifold and do the brakes. I also got the locking lugs off since I didn't have a key for them.

The shop's got everything I need and they let me use their tools, BIG PLUS that I don't have to lug my tools around. Shit they even have a mandrel pipe bender, so I'll be making exhausts for my vehicles also.

My boss has a SVT Lightning, 700 cranks HP, 580 or so to the wheels. This is a fucking monster.

And that's that. :D, I'm happy.
 
Awesome deal man! Good luck with it hopefully no bullshit happens this time. That's one thing I love about being able to take auto mechanics in high school, huge garage and every tool you'd need.

I tried getting away from fast food for a job...but the auto places like Avis, Jiffy, etc.. around here don't hire anyone below 18, and I'm 17. They won't even hire below 18 at a brake shop, muffler shop, lube and oil changes, nothing it sucks.

Yep, starter was on top, pain in the ass with all the hoses and shit in the way but it got done.

I only too some of the acc. off, I'm gonna tear it down tomorrow.
 
Thanks, I feel so much better now, it's nice waking up knowing I actually have a job to go to.

Oh, all my co workers seem to be Jeep fans too, they even have a couple parts Jeeps that I can dig into when I want, plus the junkyard across the street has a bunch of them also, so I have parts galore for the Grand Cherokee.
 
Good luck with the new job! Keep in mind, your gonna break stuff and im sure your boss knows it as well since your new in the field. My advice to you is buy quality tools. If you need to borrow a tool more than once, you need to own it. (my motto).

That's why I have the oil change wrench / diff fluid wrench for a 1985 Peugeot. It's RETARDED and took me 3 months to track down.

Oh, and a Whitworth set.
 
I offered to bring my tools over, he told me I don't have to and I can feel free to use his tools. So I said, why lug my toolbox all the way there.

The only thing I;m bringing over is my welding mask, cause his is all fucked up and then the only other thing he has is one of those ones you have to hold in front of your face and I hate using that thing, so I'm gonna convenience myself, plus I have to make an exhaust for this Yukon tomorrow and I'd never get it right if I used that fucking thing.

And the shop is in Wharton, I just take a 30-45 minute commute each way.

I have all the tools I need for my vehicles, it's when a Porsche or something comes in and needs a special tool that I don't have (well in the Porsche case I do, but that's besides the point)
 
not to be an ass or anything, but you have to concider what the cops would think if they pulled you over. Someone with a criminal record driving around with a shitload of tools in the back of a jeep.... must have stolen them or be out to steal cars. <----cops way of thinking
 
Oh I know, I don't carry my tools with me, sometimes I'll throw a few in the back but nothing big or expensive.

I'm not bringin my tools over anyway, I'd rather use his.
