I have heard of converting a sohc to a dohc is this really possible? and is the vtec only in a DOHC if so can i convert to dohc and get vtec

What are you starting with?

All you really need is the head, ECU, timing belt, VTEC oil pressure switch plug, and add a couple of wires. Anywhere from $150-$350 for everything depending on who and where you get stuff from..

It's nowhere near $1000 unless you buy new OEM parts from the dealership(like the head, etc.) Just ballpark figures: A complete VTEC head can be had for about $200 or even less, and about $100 for a ECU(P28). If you look in the right places, you can find complete SOHC VTEC motor swaps for like $300-$500.

Now aday its pretty cheap to do it, 1000-3000. Its possable and not to hard to do ( if you have the rite tools).

No offense but you cant even spell these easy words right, how would you know how much this shit costs?

Search your local salvage yards and ebay for a complete head and a ecu. Definetly consider a valve job at the least to insure you have something fresh to work with.

sorry to thread jack but lets say the head would bolt up right would it still work on the motor like the combustion chambers and shit still line up

because i was trying to think if there was a way to make like some sort of adapter plate

If it was that easy, don't you think there'd be a bunch of companies making adapter plates?

I believe someone already did it(or maybe that was a F-series?). Lets just say he regretted it.
