It's been sitting... a little dirty...

Don't ask why my valve cover is painted like the american flag... Had a crack in it when I bought the car, so that was the only one I could get my hands on right away...

looks like it's supposed to be the japanese flag, as those stripes arent even anywhere near spaced the same..

anyways, looks good!

Hmm... maybe you are right... Never thought of it that way. Either way its getting powder-coated eventually or I will just splurge on a new red one.

go get some aircraft paint stripper, and some high temp ceramic paint and re paint it whatever color you want :)

I gotta try that, but where do you buy "aircraft paint stripper"? I thought that aircrafts were of their natural material color?

A paint supply place or even Wal-Mart, its a blue can with an airplane on the front, thats what I used on mine (was painted yellow with purple polka-dots) and it took off the spray paint and the factory paint too. Then I just used regular spray paint to re-paint it.

Looks good BTW.

All my vc's had regular $.99 spray paint on them and I have never had trouble with it burning off/looking shitty.

looks good...and as for the valve cover...
get the aircraft remover and let it soak for awhile,,then wirebrush it..clean it up nice and go to autozone, get the HIGH HEAT ceramic shit--its like $5.49 a can
get the primer and whatever color youd like,,thats how i did mine and it came out really nice..
the regular paint works but after awhile it gets likebrittle or something and scratches/cracks real easy(thats how mine was done the first time)
