Ok so i noticed the other day that my B16a (94 vic) will no longer rev past 4G. It cuts off fuel at that point. I took it to the shop and they told me to get a new distributor. So i did and it didn't fix anything. I took it back and they told me since I have an automatic computer in my 5 speed none of the codes are reliable and that they couldn't help me (this is a Honda dealership we are talking about here). Instead they told me I was getting 04-1 Crank position sensor no signal and 19-2 auto lock up failure "may continue to see problems unless ecu is replaced with a 5 speed." I've noticed that one of the wires running to a green plug ( I think is the Vtec Solenoid to the right of the dizzy on the left hand side of the engine) is gone. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Find out what's wrong with the Crank position sensor using the flow chart in the Helms manual.

Also, my D15B did the same thing. Turned out the ECU took a crap(replaced it and everything works again)..

I called honda back today and they told me I needed a new computer. They said the signal wasn't being sent to the sensor. so i'm looking into buying a chipped p28 now.
thanks

would it make more sense that my sensor is bad or that the computer is bad if there is no signal?? Is there anyway to check if its my computer?

Swap in another ECU. That's how I found out my P28 was bad. I put in a P05(Civic CX) and PT3(Accord LX) ECU; both that do not have VTEC and aren't for the engine yet revved over 4000rpms fine and ran better than the P28 that was in limp mode.
