Place racing makes a mount kit for the h22. Thats the second most common swap. It should run low 15's high 14's easily. People have swaped b18c's in but I haven't heard much about them. If you wanna go cheap and simple get a jdm b20a5. Its the most common swap. YOu could probably get a good one for around 600. The jdm ones are 153hp and some have LSD's (accord one I think). Don't get a b21a1 they burn oil like its thier job.

That said, it's going to be a tough job swapping an H in. If you do manage to do it, you'll be very happy. The 200hp engine either comes from a JDM H22. You can get a USDM H22 with 195hp.

well the car does have a few small rust spots nothing big that cant be fixed for little or no money.as far as the rest of the car it seems very solid.i will be having it looked at more closely before i buy a motor to make sure its as solid as it looks to me.im just finding my options now as far as motors go. thanks for all your help tho i was just told too that mabe the h23 boosted may be a cheaper way to go and not as heavy of an engine. thanks again for your help guys.

The H22 and H23 weigh about the same. I don't think a boosted H23 will be a CHEAPER way to go, but if you has, say 10 g's to drop, then a boosted H23 will be faster than a built n/a H22.

above is a list of shit for 3rd gens. the h22 is very heavy for the 3rd gen chassis, there are a few people that did it, but i wouldnt do it if you're going to keep for a few years. it will eventually "wear out" the chassis. the jdm b20a has about 143hp (dont sure the torque) but most people do get it for about 600. the b21a1 is a good motor to turbo since the compression is something like 9:5:1, it's got one of the lowest comp. ratios for honda. another option is the b20 block overbored to fit b21 pistons and a b21 head, then turbo. pretty much a b21.

i've heard that CTR pistons will fit, for higher comp. maybe?
i've also read that h23 rods will fit, for stronger rods
and most b20a5 to b21a1 and b20a parts are swappable. (cranks, rods, heads, etc...)

the oil problem in the b21a1 come from the piston rings. replace them and your oil problem stops.

if you'd like more info check out www.preludepower.com, its a good forum, mostly arguments and "ricers" but some of us can try to help you out. after hp.com went down we lost a lot of members, and now that preludeonline.com is a pay site now, it went to shit...

i will keep all that in mind i have about 6 grand to play with so i have some thinking to do.i just wonder tho i have 140hp on my 01 celica gt stock so im not sure what ill do yet. i dont think ill be doing anything till summer with the engine.friend is going to be taking care of the few small rust spots i have and taking agood look at the car to make sure its going to worth putting the money into it.or should i do the engine fist and worry about the small amount of body work and paint job last. i do get my bodywork done for cost of supplys so that will be cheaper than the engine work by far. thanks for all the help everyone. ill keep the progress posted.

Ok, this is definitely not as easy as just getting mounts. I am doing a somewhat similar swap but I'm going with the B20A5. Since our cars are Carbeurated, there is much involved. When you decide which motor you want, you must make sure to get the ECU, Wiring Harness, Longblock(with all components i.e. distributor, manifolds). You will need an electronic fuel pump(i have a Walbro 255ltr/hr), firewall mounted fuel filter, and most importantly a 3rd fuel line running from the filter to the pump. Currently we only have 2 lines. Of course if you decide to go with the H22, you will need tranny, axles, etc. It would probably also be a good idea to get an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator to make things easier when it comes to getting the fuel system up and running. Hope this helps, and inform me if you come across anymore info on this swap. Good luck

thanks for all the help guys but after pricing everything and going over it a few times think im going to make the 90 prelude my daily driver and put my celica back to stock and trade that in on a newer lude or an integra.i think that would be a better move. thanks for all the help.
