Hey

I just bought a integra and I was wondering the best swap option for my car. I want to hit the 170 or 180 hp range. I was also wondering if you can put a 1993 gsr head on a GS b18 engine and wire up the vtec???? If it can be done and what is envolved.

Thanks

First swap... just buy a b16a1 complete swap and wire vtec up and you'll be plenty happy. A few bolt ons and the 170 mark is easily made.

If you have the funds to go with another swap i suggest going with a GSR or even a Type R but that all depends on you. If not the LS motor has plenty potential, i just personally wouldn't go with a b16..

neither would I

If i were u i would turbo the LS, b16 would actually be a downgrade IMO, i know youll ask why so I'll answer now

1) 1.8>1.6
2) Torqueyer
3) IMO a better starting platform (you have many different things you can do with it)
4) It will be cheaper
5) You already have the engine

a B16 in an integra is worthless. Might as well put a D15 in there and call it a day. Theres NO torque at all and the high end power doesn't help once you're already 6 cars behind the other guy. Its not even like its a big ammount of high end power anyways. Don't listen to anyone who tells you to get a B16 into any integra, especially 2nd gen 90-91 integras because people think its so easy to do since its OBD 0 too. If you want VTEC, go LS/VTEC or get a GSR or ITR motor in there. All you would need then is a OBD 0 VTEC distributor and a PR3 ecu. If you wanna have 170-180hp, i'd go with a GSR motor. Depending on how an LS/VTEC motor is built, a GSR can be more stable. Just drop that in there with your basic bolt-ons and you'll be happy. Just remember this: There is NO replacement for displacement.

i agree with everyone you could do a swap here are some choices

Engine: 1988-1991 JDM B16A
Displacement: 1595cc
Compression Ratio: 10.2:1
Hp/Torque: 160hp@7600rpm/112lb-ft@7000rpm
Transmission: JDM S1, J1, Y1, A1 (cable

Engine: 1992-up JDM B16A
Displacement: 1595cc
Compression Ratio: 10.4:1
Hp/Torque: 170hp@7800rpm/116lb-ft@7300
Transmission: Y21, S4C (hydraulic)

Engine: 1994-1995 USDM B18C1
Displacement: 1797cc
Compression Ratio: 10.0:1
Hp/Torque: 170hp@7600rpm/128lb-ft@6200
Transmission: Y80 (hydraulic)

Engine: 1996-up JDM B18C
Displacement: 1797cc
Compression Ratio: 10.6:1
Hp/Torque: 180hp@7600rpm/129lb-ft@6200
Transmission: Y80, S80 (hydraulic/optional LSD)

Engine: 1997-up USDM B18C5
Displacement: 1797cc
Compression Ratio: 10.6:1
Hp/Torque: 195hp@8000rpm/130lb-ft@7500rpm
Transmission: S80 w/ LSD (hydraulic)

or you could do a turbo or a lsvtec biuld but to do either of these right you need to go thru the motor and once you go thru and replace pistons and rods and bearing and gaskets so that you know that you have a reliable motor you could of done a swap and had money to spare . the reason everyone does a b16 swap is b/c they are pretty cheap you can get a half cut from japan that would have everything you need b16 trany ecu wiring all for 1600$ so it is up to you on what you what to do . also 90-91 b18a 130hp 92-93 140 hp this is b/c the intake manifold flows better in the 92-93 models.
